Welcome to the Northwest Missouri Genealogical Society (NWMGS) web page.
NWMGS is a non profit organization, founded in 1979 to encourage and promote the study and research of family history in Northwest Missouri.

NWMGS serves the following counties in Northwest Missouri:
Andrew, Atchison, Buchanan, Clinton, DeKalb, Gentry, Holt, Nodaway, and Worth

NWMGS collects and occasionally publishes information from other nearby counties including northeast Kansas.

NWMGS encourages the study of genealogy and research in Northwest Missouri, collects, publishes and preserves genealogical materials and historical records of our area, assists members by instruction, pools resources and provides its members the opportunity to meet others with similar interests in researching family history so they can share their knowledge and experience with others.

The NWMGS Library has a fairly extensive collection of resource materials, reference books, microfilm, microfiche, CD ROMS for this area, surrounding states and across the country.
