The Diggin's is published quarterly by the Old Mines Area Historical Society, Inc. Our members receive this periodical as part of their membership. Articles included are specific to local historical information with occasional general information concerning the French culture in the United States in the 1700s. We are looking for contributions of articles from our membership. If you have a family story to tell, old photos or general information, please submit it for inclusion in The Diggin's.
As part of your annual membership, you may submit one free query per year asking for information about a family member. This is a query to the general membership and not to be confused with a Genealogical Request. The editorial staff encourages members and the public to submit material for publication. Neither the Old Mines Area Historical Society, Inc., nor the editorial staff assumes responsibility for errors of fact or opinions expressed by the contributor. The editor reserves the right to edit material prior to publication. Material not used in the newsletter may be placed in the OMAHS library.
We have a continuous need for quality articles about French history, family stories and information on this historic area, please share your treasured memories with us.
Be part of the building of our new French village where the annual Fete will be held and where we are moving buildings from our past that would otherwise be destroyed. To find out how you can help, please email us.
