D. L. 'Doc' BREWER was born in Tennessee about 1847, and came to Oregon County with his parents about 1854. He was married to Eliza A. E. BETTS about 1868. Where and when were they married? Where did they live in 1870? Doc and Eliza BREWER raised two daughters. Both daughters may have both been adopted. Who were they, and whom did they marry? Doc and Eliza were divorced in Oregon County in 1904. What became of Eliza (BETTS) BREWER after their divorce? Did she remarry? Where did she go? Any help with this family will be appreciated.

I have information on the Siebke family from Oregon Co. John and Liza Siebke moved to Oregon Co. from Germany in the 1870's. They lived on a small farm in the Dry Creek Community. John and Liza are buried in unmarked graves in the Dobbs (LaHue) Cemetery located on Pigman Ranch. I would be thrilled if anyone had other information to share or needed information that I have.

SIMMONS - am trying to find out date of death and burial site for my ggg-uncle, Dr. Peter Owen SIMMONS, who lived in Oregon Co. MO before, during, and after the Civil War. He apparently served in Co. H of Fristoe's Missouri Cavalry, CSA and was surrendered/paroled at Jacksonport, AR on June 5, 1865; at that time, his home address is given as Thomasville, Oregon Co. MO and his age recorded as 36 years. Also trying to discover burial site of his younger brother (my gg-grandfather) Alfred L. SIMMONS who served in Co. I, 7th Arkansas Infantry CSA; family story claims he was ill and take home by his brother, Dr. Peter SIMMONS, where he died in 1864. Any and all help very (!!!!) greatly appreciated by this Native Arizonan!!!! - Kenneth Byrd, Indianapolis.

From another researcher I recently learned that James P. McCLELLAN, a native of White County, and his wife Miranda SUTTON and at least two children moved from White Co. IL to Oregon Co. between 1865 and 1870. I have a bunch of McCLELLAN cousins who left the area in the 1860s and 1870s and would really like to make contact with others researching the name. My McClellans came to IL from SC and TN about 1817. Thanks Cindy Birk Conley, Carmi, IL

I am searching for information concerning the Rikard family living in Oregon County from approximately 1876 to 1881. This family consisted of known brothers William Hutchison Rikard (and wife Martha Langley and three children one of which was named William Levingston Rikard), Bell Rikard and Marion Blackwell Rikard. This family migrated to Oregon County from Alabama around 1876, and lived in the area for approximately 5 years before moving south to Wirth, Sharp County, Arkansas where they began homesteading land in 1881. A letter of reference from a Missionary Baptist Church in Alton, Oregon County, Missouri exists which states that this family was in good standing and allowed them to become members of another church upon moving to Arkansas. Also, land patent applications dated 1886 list William H. Rikard as having a post office box located in Jeff, Missouri.

I am also seeking renewed contact with M. Peggy Faye, a TEAGUE contact. If anyone can direct me to her, please let me know. We were trading information and she disappeared off the internet. I very much desire to get information on JOSIAH PAYNE, a county judge in Oregon County during Civil War times. Also, I have been researching the Civil War and those involved in Oregon County. Visit my website to see what I have gathered http://home.earthlink.net/~stoutd -- this is only the beginning of a life-long endeavor!

Researching Francis Marion (Frank) ROGERS b. 1836 Illinois. He was in Laclede Co., Mo. in 1853-59. I did not find him in 1860 census of Laclede nor Oregon Co. He enlisted at Eleven Points Mill in Oregon Co.,Mo in August 1862 in Mitchell's Infantry Battalion (CSA) . After the war, he remained in Louisiana where his unit surrendered.
