I am researching a book on my family (BATES, NESOM, RAMSEY and STACEY), focusing on their role in the American western movement. My research has lead me to Missouri (MO) based on birthplaces and some skimpy family documents. I am seeking a link to E. R. McDowell, my great-grandfather (I don’t have a first or middle name for McDowell). He is my father’s biological father. I have the following facts: 1. My grandmother was Gladys Pearl Stacey, b. February 05, 1915 in Globe, Gila County, Arizona, d. April 16, 1981 in Prescott, Arizona; 2. Gladys left AZ, probably in 1932-33, following her graduation from high school in Clifton, AZ. She went to live with STACEY relatives in MO. 3. Gladys then met and married E.R. McDowell in MO. 4. Her son (my father) Robert Eldon Ramsey was born between 1933 and 1936 in MO. She then returned to Arizona. 5. My grandmother married H.S. Ramsey in January 20, 1936 in Safford, Gila County, Arizona 6. My father assumed the surname Ramsey. Finally, it is reported that E.R. McDowell was shot and killed by police in the early 1930s. However, we have not been able to verify this family rumor and don’t know what happened to McDowell. We are working to document our family, and had no idea we had a McDowell line. Perhaps you can help us by pointing us in the right direction. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated to resolve this mystery.

Looking for any information I can get about the George H. Seley family that lived in Thomasville from about 1865 on. He was buried at the Woodside cemetery in Thomasville, along with his wife Mary Jane (Wilson)(Davis).Daughter of John Riley and Elvira Davis. I am interested in his daughter Linnie, who is my great grandmother. they also had a son named Al. there seems to be no mention of Linnie being married. My Gr-grandparents, Edgar Clark BLACKNEY and his wife, Angelica Teegardin, of Pickaway Co. Ohio were early settlers in Holt County Missouri. He was born July 26, 1829 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of Edgar Clark BLACKNEY Sr. and his wife, Sarah KIDNEY BLACKNEY-JACOBS. His father died soon after his birth and his mother joined her parents in Columbus, Fairfield Co. OHIO. In abt. 1832 she married Asher M. JACOBS in Ohio. They also came to Oregon, Holt Co. MO and had a furniture and undertaking business there by the 1870's. George JACOBS, born 1841 was the son of Asher and Sarah JACOBS, he married Melvina STONE. Englebert A. SAAL (SALE), born 1869 in Panora, Guthrie Co. Iowa, died Oct. 6, 1905 in Oregon MO was also related. His wife was Minnie COOK. I would appreciate information you may have on any of these families. Thanks

I'm looking for any available information about my grandfather, Albert Chastain. I know he was born on December 3, 1891. He died on July 17, 1928 in Thayer, Missouri. He married Mandy Electia Darnell on March 7, 1910 in Thayer. Apparently he was not a very nice man, and he was murdered near a railroad track in Oregon County. Any information would be appreciated!

In the 1860 Oregon CO census, Lavina Peace is listed as living in the household of John Walan. Another female is Malissa, I am assuming she is the wife of John. I am looking for information on Lavina and is she related to Malissa Walan. The entire household disappears after the 1860 census. Does anyone know what happened to them Sandy Peace Ree
