Looking for information on the children of Samuel Hurst. Samuel was born about 1830 in TN and died about 1865. He could possibly have been married prior to his marriage to Mary Huddleston in 1852, since according to ages on census records his first son, George Washington Hurst was born abt. 1851. His second wife was Sarah Ann "Sallie" Brown Huddleston the widow of James Huddleston (brother of Mary Huddleston) They were married in 1854 and had William Albert who married Julia McSpadder, Jane who mrried Johnny Douglas adn Mahala E. who married Joseph Allmon. George Washington Hurst married Esther Emma Mayberry the daughter of Solomon and Deborah Garvett Mayberry. They lived in Oregon and Shannon County all their lives. Their children included, James Alexaner "Alex" m. Elizabeth Smith, Samuel Solomon m. Mary Louise Shipp, Marshall m. Pearl Atkins and Ovie Jasper "Jack" Hurst who married Lois Gosnell and later Etta Mendenhall. There may have been other wives also. The daughters were Julia and Bessie who married Zim Albert. "Jack" Hurst's daughter, Inez from his first marriage married a W. L. Buffington. Would appreciate any information

I am researching my grandfather, Charles B. SIMPSON, born 1868, of ILL. He married Alice LESLIE, born 1880, in ARK. They possibly were married in Winona, Shannon county, MO, abt 1900. They farmed in the Brawley, New Liberty area of Oregon county. Their children were, Eva, Roosevelt, Irvin, Maude, James, and my father Jesse. All born 1901-1912 All of their 8 children were delivered by Dr. William Gordon LESLIE, Alice's father. Dr. William Gordon LESLIE was born 1832 and died 1916. He is buried in Falling Creek cemetery, Oregon county. He and his wife, Emeline, and his son, W.T. are listed as "LASLEY" per the Oregon County Cemetery book. However, he is listed as LESLIE on his death certificate, the Physicians Death Record, and on census records. Dr. LESLIE's father is also named William LESLIE and his mother's maiden name was HOGAN.
