Rosalie b. 25 Nov 1824 married Charles Frances BOILLOT in 1849 in Taos, Cole County, Missouri and then moved to Loose Creek, Osage County, Missouri. Paul first married Anna Mary SCHULTEN on 3 Jan. 1854 in Taos, Cole County, Missouri. She died about a year after their marriage (I have not found a burial for Anna Mary.) Paul married second Elizabeth SOUTHOLDER on 3 Nov 1857 in Taos. Paul and Elizabeth had four children. John (their son) married Anna Gertrude MERTENS (daughter of John Mertens and Mary Christine SCHUELEN = granddaughter of Joseph Mertens and Magdalena LUETHEN of Westphalia, Osage County, Missouri). Anna G. Mertens was born on 21 Jan. 1866 in Westphalia and baptized at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia. I am looking for John and Anna's marriage place. I am looking for information on Charles KAPELL. He was born in Prussia Aug. 12, 1838. He came to this country in 1856, married Mary Luetie at Herman, Mo. Mar. 8, 1862. He served in the Union Army during the Civi War and later settled in Osage Co. where he farmed and lived for nearly 50 years. His farm was near Shawnee Creek, near Chamois, Mo. Seeking information on HENRY AND BARBARA HOFFMANN who settled in Crawford Township, Osage County. Both Henry (Heinrich) and Barbara were from Bavaria and came to Osage County in the 1850's. They were one of the early founders of Pilgrim Lutheran Church along with JOHN LINHARDT, HERMAN NIEWALD, FRED KRUEGER, and EDWARD SCHNASSE. Henry received a Land Patent IN 1858 and farmed until his death in 1871. Barbara continued to raise the children, but 1880 Federal Census records show her living with JAMES AND ELIZABETH HOLLOWAY. Stranger yet, her youngest three children (MARY, LOUISA, AND JOHN) are not shown with her. However, JOHN HOFFMAN showed up later in 1900 running the general store and post office in Ryors. I would like any information about the HOFFMANN'S and would like to know if JAMES HOLLOWAY ran a boarding house which would have attracted a widow. My wife is the great grand daughter of HENRY AND BARBARA HOFFMANN.

AFRICAN AMERICAN SCHOOLS in Osage

I am currently engaged in a MO. Dept. of Natural Resources/Historic Preservation Program Survey that aims to document all remaining structures in Missouri that functioned as AFRICAN AMERICAN SCHOOLS. Osage County is one of eighteen counties included in the first phase of our study. It seems that Osage had a small yet significant African American population and undoubtedly a number of schools. We are aware that Maceo School in Chamois was razed a number of years ago. Any information concerning remaining black schools would be greatly appreciated. The first 3 children were born in Callaway Co., MO and all the rest were born in Osage County. Tillman was a minister and married several people in the county and Fannie was a midwife and delivered many Osage county babies. This was actually Tillman's second marriage. His first wife was named Charlotte Townsend. I'd be happy to share information.

They lived in Cherokee Co, NC. 4-Royal PRICE, Jr. (b.1818) md. Barbara WHITE. Lived in Osage Co, MO. 5-Mary PRICE md. John GREEN. Where did they live? 6-West W. PRICE (b.1817) md. Sarah HOWARD. Lived in Osage Co, MO and KS. 7-Reuben W. PRICE (b.c.1819). Died in Mexican War. Would like more info on the above families.

LIGHT, Willis I'm looking for info on his death and/or burial site. All I know is, He was my great-grandfather on my paternal side. He died when my grandfather was very young (2-3 yrs. old). I know my grandfather was born in Chamois, Osage Co.,Mo on 2-21-1887 to Willis and Martha M. (Branman) Light. He has two sisters, Nettie and Hattie. My grandfather is dead so I can't ask him and my dad doesn't know any of this info. My great-grandmother remarried when my grandfather (Thomas Andrew Light) was about 3 yrs. old. She married a James W. Smith. I found them in the 1900 census living in Jackson Twp, Maries Co., Mo but my grandfather wasn' t living with the family. Just the 2 sisters. I would appreciate any help or suggestions for finding this. I have looked everywhere I can think of. It doesn't help that there isn't a 1890 census available. Thank you ! 5-2-98

PRATT in OSAGE co 24 Dec 1868. Also need information on Woodford R. LAYMAN who married Rebecca WOODY in OSAGE co on 29 Jan 1869. Any info on any of these families would be appreciated.
