Jesse was born in Morgan's Hill, Texas on
21 Dec 1879 (Its possible his birth place
was Morgan's Mill, in Erath Co., as there
is apparently no such place as Morgan's Hill).
Jesse was given to an Underwood family while
living in Bragg City, MO. They changed his
name to Jack David Underwood. He married
Rebecca Surilda CHRONISTER in Clarksville,
Johnson Co., ARK on 4 Dec 1901. He died in
Bragg City Mo. on 12 May 1938 and is buried in
May Cemetary on Houston Ark.

grandparents and their son, my grandfather. Great grandfather
Isadore M.
Manuel moved from Metropolis, Illinois to Charleston, MO in
Mississippi
Co. sometime before 1900 (In Charleston at time of 1900 census).
Isadore
was born in Strassborg (now Germany) in either 1840 or 1851 and
married
Sarah Jane "Jennie " Miller from Tennessee. After 1900 they
located in
Pascola in Pemiscott Co. and opened a general store and boarding
house.
Isadore died in 1908 and is buried in Kennett, Mo. Jennie died
in 1933
and is buried in Kennet also at Oakridge Cemetery. Their son,
Mark G.
"Moxie" Manuel was a professional baseball player and helped in
the
general store in the off season. I believe he took it over after
Isadore's death. He was mayor of Pascola sometime between 1912
and 1920.
He died in Memphis in 1924 and is buried in Kennett with his
parents.
Isadore and Jennie also had a daughter, Blanche, who married Ted
Shelby
of the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. If anyone has any
info to
add, I would appreciate it.

on October 31, 1890 in Obion, Obion County, Tennessee and she
died
January 11, 1960 in Wardell, Pemiscot County, Missouri. The
only thing
my entire family knows about Henry F. HILL and Mary BRASIEUR is
that they
were married on February 20, 1876 in Decatur County, Tennessee.
