by thee present that I Jacob Hagler of Randolph County
and State of Virginia for and in consideration of the
natural love and affection which I have to my daughter
Sally Hinkell and my grandchildren William Washington
Hinkell and Eli Perry Hinkell of the county of franklin
county and state of Missouri as well as for the further
consideration of one dollar to me in hand paid by the
said Sally Hinkell, William Washington Hinkell and Eli
Perry Hinkell at or before the sealing and delivery of
these ( ? ) the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged
have given and granted and by these presents do give and
grant unto the said Sally Hinkell, William Washington
Hinkell, & Eli Perry Hinkell a certain male negro
slave named (Joseph?) to have and to hold the said male
slave 1/3 the only proper use and behalf of the said
Sally Hinkell during her natural life and then to the
only the said George Washington Hinkell and Eli Perry
Hinkell and all other heirs the said Sally Hinkell may
have children and their heirs forever and the said Jacab
Hagler for myself and ( ? ) and administrators the said
male negro slave to the said Sally Hinkell during her
natural life and then to her heirs as above against me
the said Jacob Hagler my executors administrators and
assigns will warrant forever defend by these presents In
testimony where of I have here set my hand and affixed my
seal this 24th day of September 1834. Test John B. Earle} Sept. 24th acknowledged in the clerks office the said Jacob Hagler Randolph County Circuit Clerks Office Sept. 24th 1843. This Bill of sale from Jacob Hagler to Sally Hinkell and heirs was solemnly lodged in the Clerks office aforesaid by the said Jacob Hagler and admitted to Records. Recorded 3rd Nov. 1834 A. Earle CK. R. C.
