|2012 Ornament--Simon Bolivar
This beautiful Limited Edition Christmas tree ornament is the second in a series of ornaments presented by the Polk County Genealogical Society. A new ornament featuring a landmark Polk County building or landmark will be revealed each fall for the upcoming holiday season.
The 2012 ornament features the 64-year-old Simon Bolivar Statue, located at Neuhart Park in the mid-town Bolivar area. The statue was given as a gift to the citizens of Bolivar in 1948 from the country of Venezuela in memory of the "Liberator of South America," Simon Bolivar. The front features a color picture of the statue outlined by silver and the back features the classic Christmas colors of red, green and white with information about the statue and the genealogical society. The ornament comes with a beautiful red ribbon already attached.
