Shortline Railroad

As part of their Center MO “Park Days” tent display on July 27 the Ralls County Missouri Historical Society will feature a display of photos, articles, videos and other items from the historic “Shortline Railroad”. Conrad Cheatham, Andy Sisk and other experts on the history of this long gone railroad plan to attend to answer questions. A video of the May 20 talk featuring Conrad Cheatham and Andy Sisk in New London will be shown also.  If you have any photos, articles, stories or other items of interest in the Shortline Railroad, please bring they by the tent.  It is hoped to put the old Center Shortline depot on the list of National Historical Landmark and restore it back its days of service.   It is hoped to gather enough information to write a history of the railroad in the future in article or book form.  Any information or items you may be able to share would be helpful in completing the history.  If you are interested in forming a group to help preserve the history of Shortline call the Center City Hall at 573-267-3331, e-mail Ron Leake at rwleake@aol.com or mail Ralls Co.
