FARRAR, Leonard (VA Mil & NC Mil) Franklin Co.-(MOLLUS)
Leonard Farrar was born April 04, 1764 in Gouchland Co., VA. Lived in Pittsylvania Co., VA during the war. He married Margaret Hamilton in 1795 in Barren Co., KY. They moved from KY to St. Louis, MO about 1799 and soon after to Franklin Co., initially to Boles Twp and then to St. Johns Twp by 1819, where he lived until he died on April 30, 1836. Buried in Giersa Cemetery with modern stone placed by the DAR.

Born 1756 in VA/(France, when Gen. Lafayette came to America he was one of his soldiers?, captured by the British alone with his brother Thomas, escaped, lived the wilderness and rejoined his forces for the surrender of Cornwallis). Post war lived in Greenbriar Co., VA, Madison Co., KY, m.Leah Downie, b.1762 in KY, traveled with Boone in KY, then to MO, living in St. Louis for two years and then to what would later become Franklin Co., MO settling on a tract of land on the Missouri River, six miles above Washington, MO. Mosias died 29Oct1816, Leah d. 15May18-4. There graves are marked, buried in the Maupin Cemetery (on the Ralston-Purina Wildlife Farm), Franklin Co, MO.

WHITTLESEY, Charles (CT St Troops) Franklin Co.-(MOLLUS)
Born 1769 in New London, CT, post war lived in CT, NY and MO, living in Franklin Co., MO by 1833.
War Service: Enlisted when he was 11 or 12 years old, served in the CT State Troops, wounded the same time his father, John Whittlesey was killed in 1781.
