My line is by way of William E.
Boutwell Jr. His first marriage was to Margaret Jane
Wilson. They were married October 9, 1866 in Scott County,
MO. They had the following children: Lillian, Margaret,
Permelia, and Katie. Only Katie survived to adult.
She married Robert Kennedy on November 1, 1892.
His second marriage was to my great-grandmother,
Harriett Elizabeth Hindman. They were married October
5, 1892 in Scott County, MO. They had the following children:
John W. 1894-1973, Matthew Kelly 1896-1972,
Alonzo Clyde 1898-1980, Ruth Abby 1904-1993,
Emma @1906-1906, Mary Lou 1909-2001.
Mary Lou is my Grandmother. She
has given me a tremendous amount of information about her
family. She married my Grandfather, Louis Witt in St.
Louis, MO in 1929.
My great-grandfather, William
E. Jr. was a Civil War vet serving under Capt. Alex
Wright in Company H, 8th Regt. He and my great-grandmother
are buried at the Sikeston City Cemetery.
2) William E. Boutwell Sr. was
married a second time. In 1860 he married a woman named
Elizabeth Canteral. She and 2 of her children were on
the 1860 census. It showed her as his wife. He died shortly
after the census but I have not found his burial site yet. I
believe he is buried close to the Old Pleasant Plain Post
Office.
