Birthdays were always special to Susie and she enjoyed her 90th surprise birthday party here at the church in 2003 so very much. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone. She always said 'If you can't say anything good about a person, don't say anything at all' and she lived by those words. She loved little children, whether they were her grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren or someone else's - she loved them all. She also loved being outdoors working in her flowers or just walking through the woods to the river. Some of her fondest memories were of picking dogwoods in the woods, going hunting with Thornton and going to the deer camp to visit with everyone. Susie was save and baptized when she was a young girl and remained a faithful Christian until the end. She was a member of the West Eminence Christian Church and missed all her church family when she went to live with her daughter in 2002.
