15 July 1882/Ste. Genevieve Herald/Deaths

Ste. Genevieve Herald
Ste. Genevieve, Mo.
Saturday, July 15, 1882

Old man Ellis COUNTS who tried to commit suicide some time ago with ill success, has at last succeeded in his design by hanging himself with a checkline.

DIED: July the 9th, Henry JOKERST, infant sone of Hy. JOKERST of this city, aged 1 year, 2 months and 9 days, after a very short sickness.

Died, near Bloomsdale, Ste. Genevieve County, Mo., July the 10th, 1882, Pauline, wife of August JOKERST and daughter of David and Theresa VAETH, aged 22 years, 2 months and 6 days. In the death of this truely good woman her grief-stricken husband and relatives feel a void in their hearts never to be replaced. She was a loving wife, dutiful daughter, an affectionate sister, kind and obliging to all her friends, a consistent and devout catholic. She died in that faith with the full assurance of rewards for the almost perfect life she led. We extend our sincere and heart-felt sympathy to her sorrowing husband and bereaved relatives in this hour of their bitter grief.
