SIMMS
CEMETERY |
This small cemetery,
located near Davis Crossing in St. Francois County, Missouri, near the crossroads where
Old Irondale Road crosses BB Highway (T36N, R4E, Sec. 19), was copied and
transcribed by Melanie Rickmar on May 2, 1988, and
then re-copied by Virignia Snyder (deceased) March 1990.
The Cemetery is obscured by a grove of sassafras trees. It is fenced but one
side of the fence has been knocked down by cattle. Most of the gravestones are
broken and laying on the ground, hidden by weeds. The inscriptions could be read,
however, by placing the pieces of stones together. |
