ELVINS YOUTH LOST LIFE WHILE IN SERVICE MAY 29

     Mr. and Mrs. Ira Williford of Elvins received a telegram on Thursday, August 26th, confirming the death of their son, Harry, who was previously reported missing. The message reads as follows:

Ira Lloyd Williford
Elvins, Mo.

     The Secretary of war desires that I tender his deep sympathy to you in the loss of your son, Staff Sergeant Harry E. Williford. It has been determined that he died twenty-nine May while on a routine over water training mission from Marysville, California.
