Date: 17 Jan 2001
Searching for information on my ggg grandparents, William HICKMAN and Elizabeth JACKSON. Best information I have is that they were born circa 1825. William was born in Obion Co., TN and Elizabeth was born in Stoddard County.
Their daughter, Clarinda Anna "Annie" HICKMAN was born in Stoddard County on March 15, 1857. There also appear to have been at least two sons, probably older than Annie. The family may have later moved back to Tennessee.
William and Elizabeth apparently died while Annie was in her early teens, as she went to live with the family of Dr. C.P. GLOVER in Obion County, TN after she was orphaned. Annie's brothers appear to have been deceased by this time, as well.
There seems to be some connection between the HICKMAN and the GLOVER families in both Stoddard County, MO and Obion Co., TN.

I am trying to find information on the Sifford family who lived in Bloomfield in the late 1800's. The spelling of the name could have been Siefert or Seifert at that time. My great-great grandfather's name was Thomas Jefferson Sifford. A Sarah Odelia Sifford Fike lived there with her family and had a son named Jimmie Fike who supposedly died in Bloomfield in 1894.Sarah was either my Great -Grandfather's(Amos Sifford) sister or cousin.Amos lived in Cardwell and married into the Cash family. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone have access to a Stoddard Co. census to do a lookup for me? I cannot find Reuben S. Tatum in the 1860 census. He was born in 1858 and was not with his father, William G., in 1860. I wonder where he was. Also, I would like to see from the 1850 census of Stoddard Co. the family of William H. Tatum. I don't know who he was or if he was related to William G.

I am searching for any info on Effie VERNOR, the daughter of James VERNOR and Annie LANGLEY. Effie married Albert MORGAN, son of John Lair MORGAN and Lucina Caroline HARTY. Effie is my ggrandmother, and I believe she and Albert were married around 1914 or early 1915. Albert's parents lived in Stoddard county, and after Effie's death in 1919 their daughter, Bessie MORGAN, lived in Stoddard county with her Morgan grandparents. However, I am looking for any information that would help me to place Effie and Albert in Stoddard county at the time of their marriage or some time before her death. I am specifically trying to find out if she was buried in Stoddard county.
Thanks in advance for any information you might have that would help me out.

I am looking for relatives of Dr. T. L. Waddle,of Dexter, MO, b. about 1900. I am assuming that he is deceased, but I suppose it's possible that he's still hanging in there.
He was a cousin of my mother's, and I have a genealogically interesting letter he wrote to her in 1967. His middle name was Lamar, but I don't know what his first name was. If anyone on this list is actually from Stoddard Co. or knows anything about this family, please get in touch with me.
Thanks, Linda S.
P.S. This is really a Greene Co, MO, family, with a little side trip to Washington Co, AR. Dr. Waddle was probably born in Kansas.
