John Steward born 1819 married Rebecka Chronister 15 Apr 1838 in Cape Girardeau, MO. They lived in Stoddard County (post office - Indian Ford). They had children; Nancy 1842, John A. 1843, Sarah 1846, Mary 1848. He married second Bathena E. maiden name unknown at this time. They had children; George Washington 1851, James William 1856, Tempy 1860. Third John married Margarett Stewart and they had one child, Wilson Calvin - called Callie born 1863. He married 4th - Nancy Elizabeth Stewart born 1836 who was the daughter of Lemuel Stewart. John and Nancy had children; Tiletha Ann 1865, (Sarah) Dona 1868, Daniel D. twin to Dona 1868, Rosetta 1872 and Decater C. called Cater 1873. John died Aug 1879 and is buried in Rock Hill Cemetery in rural Puxico, MO. Note: Tempy's death certificate states that her mother's name was Mary Moore but this doesn't agree with other records. Her name could be Mary Barthena E. Moore. I have additional information that I would like to share with other members of this family.

I would like to correspond with any Dodson researcher that has ancestors or kin (past and present) in Stoddard County. I'm interested in Dr. James H. Dodson and his brother, Thomas C. Dodson. Thomas had a son Jesse possibly Jesse C. Dodson. These people were still living around 1900 so there should be some kin still around. The father of Dr. James H. Dodson and Thomas C. My family lived in Stoddard Co, Richland Twp.,Mo around 1877 thru 1880's. My gr gr grandfathers name is Mahugal Howard, his son is Isaac D. Howard born in Commerce, Scott Co.,Mo in 1863. Isaac had a half sister, (her mother is Mary)Elizabeth Jane born 1877, and three other siblings. I am looking for information regarding the following people that were in the Stoddard county area. Elijah Kelso married Martha Hopkins. Both were deceased by 1892 I would like any info regarding their four minor children at the time - Nora, Martha, Edward and William Elijah. William Elijah married Laura Idel Adcock in 1904. Laura died in 1917. William Elijah married Ella Young I don't know when but had moved to Illinois by the mid 1940's. Any information on these families would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for any information on Duncan/Dunkin LUNSFORD and his wife Jane who were listed on the 1850 census of Stoddard County. By 1860, several LUNSFORD children were living in WHITEHEAD, PECK, and possibly MORAN households. I'm trying to determine if these were the children of DUNCAN LUNSFORD. I am looking for the parents of John N.(Noah) Washington MOORE. I have a lot of information on John but nothing on his parents. John was born in 1846 in Stewart County Tn and was married to Jane Anderson Campbell Francis (I know nothing about her family either). They both are buried in Dexter Mo. Looking for the date and place of the marriage of George Morgan and Parilee "Nellie" Auten Summers. Also need the date and location of the death of William H Summers, Nellie's first husband. Parilee Nellie Auten (b Feb 1872 IL) m William H Summers (b 1855 TN) in Franklin County IL 2 Dec 1891. They had a son Carroll and a daughter Minnie. William died or was divorced c 1895. About 1895 Nellie married George Morgan (b 1855 IL). They had Maude b May 1897 and Albert George b February 28, 1904. George died about Nov or Dec 1903 before the birth of Albert George. George is buried in Stanfield Cemetery Dunklin County MO. George and Nellie are listed in the 1900 census in Duck Creek Township, Stoddard County MO. Can anyone tell me about Ethridge Morris who was married and divorced in Stoddard Co. He was born about 1901. My father was Ethridge Morris born in 1917 in Dunklin co Buffalo township Caldwell Mo. His mother was ellen Dodson of Hornersville father Gus Morris. Ellen Dodson was the daughter of Cal G. Dodson and Julia A. Burton . Gus Morris was the son of James B. Morris and Rachel Cherry of Trigg Co Ky. Ethridge is a strange name and to have two in counties this close I wonder if there is a connection? Cora Park(e)married James Smith, 31 Aug 1899, Dudley. James Smith died & she remarried, to _____ Morgan. Can anyone tell me when James Smith died & when she remarried, as well as Mr. Morgan's first name. I'm told that they later lived at Kennett, Dunklin Co. I am looking for any information on Dr. J. H. Tanner, who appears in the Stoddard County 1880 Census. He was age 40, his wife Mary was 22, he had 3 sons, the oldest was Charles age 14. Dr. Tanner was in Butler County in 1870, with young Charles and wife Sophijah. I think his parents may have come from McLean County, KY.
