Who Are They?
Help Identify the People in these photographs
| Photos found in the Davis house in Bloomfield Carol Davis McDonald: These photos were found in the attic of a one-story, white house that my husband's cousin moved into around 1975. The house is located about 2 1/2 - 3 miles east of Bloomfield on Hwy E, near a creek. The woman who lived there was Ruth(?) Davis who kept it as a home for the elderly. She had a brother who lived north & east of Puxico (in a white house on a hill) who handled the sale after his sister died. There is a house "back up in the field" from the Davis house. She thinks that the man who lived there in 1975 still lives there. I've been in touch with 2-3 people who have Davis relatives in Stoddard County, but no one has been able to identify these people yet | |

This photograph belongs to Kay Stearns. "I have the names but do not know which is which, except that person seated in the first row is Elvis E. Anderson who was born in Stoddard County in 1890 and lived there until about 1912. The other three are George Garrett, Ted Horton, and Reese Casey. Thought maybe someone might enjoy seeing these." |

These photographs belong to Barbara Pollack. Top Picture: "This picture is a total mystery. We know that it was taken when George Washington Hobbs went to Stoddard County for a visit. The people standing in front of this house are Hobbs relatives in Stoddard County Missouri. The house was in Stoddard County. Hobbs married Underhills, Slacks, Brannocks, Temples, and Millers of Stoddard County. Anyone that can identify these folks please contact- Barbara Hobbs Pollack - bpollack@pollacks.org. We could use the help. Thanks Barbara" Bottom Picture: "This is a picture found in George Washington Hobbs' picture album. The place it was in had written under it that it was a photo of Green B. Hobbs, brother of George Washington Hobbs. But as you can see the word Brannock is written on the photo. Is this, in fact, Green B. Hobbs? Or is it one of the Brannock relatives? Or does the B in Green B. Hobbs' name stand for Branock? If this is Green B. Hobbs he was born 14 Sep 1866 in Stoddard County, Missouri. He was the youngest son of Isaac Hobbs and wife, Mirah Binion. Green died in June of 1894 and is buried in Bloomfield Cemetery. As far as we know, he did not marry" |

This picture was submitted by James H Johnson, jhjohnson@aol.com. "I believe it is a McCarroll. My ggrandfather was Simon McCarroll (1833-1903) who is buried in the North Antioch Cemetery. I would like to know if anyone can identify either of the two persons in the picture. " |
