information on Nathan LYNCH who died in Stoddard County on 26
Dec 1936.
He is buried at Gravel Hill Cemetery. He was married first to
Lucille E.
BLACK, date unknown. Nathan appears on the 1910 census of
Stoddard Co.,
in the Duck Creek township, with 4 of his children. It shows he
is a
widow, but his wife was still living at that time. On the 1920
census he
was enumerated with his second wife Laura and all of the
children are
gone.
I know Nathan's first wife ended up in Shreveport, LA. If
anyone can

Welson
in Stoddard Co., MO in the late 1800s. He was born in Franklin
Co., IL,
and was previously married to Mary Jane (White) Downs, widow of

Downs. Mary and Samuel appeared in the 1880 Census, still in Cave
Township, Franklin County, with their children, Matilda M.,
Samuel,
Elizabeth, Sarah H., Charles L., and Mary A., and John and
Mary's sons,
Manuel Rice Downs, and John Quincy Downs. At that point, they
vanish from
the census records. Samuel died in Bell City, Stoddard Co., and
Mary in
Malden, Dunklin Co., MO. Any help at all would be greatly

any
information on the ancestry of Thomas Logan FARRIS, Jr. who was
born in
1858 in Sikeston, ScottCounty, Missouri. It is assumed that
since Thomas
was a "Junior" that his father would have been named,Thomas Logan
Farris,Sr. However, it has not yet been determined which Thomas
L. Farris
was the father of our patriach. We know from Thomas Logan
Farris' death
certificate that his father was from Tennessee.
Thomas Logan FARRIS' obituary also stated he left Sikeston, MO,
and later
lived in Dudley (Stoddard County) to the west. He was occupied
pimarily
as a farmer during his lifetime. His son, Rufus, recounted also
that his
father was a carpenter and a cooper as well.
Thomas married Mary Elizabeth Hudson, the daughter of John
Richard Hudson
and Elizabeth "tiny" Cobb(of Chippewas descent), exact date
unknown. Mary
was born on March 21, 1865 in Missouri. She grew up in Oregon
County,Missouri to west of Doniphan.
Thomas and Mary had at least eleven children:
