QRYTEXT: I am seeking
information for
Marmaduke MAPLES, brother of Charlotte MAPLES md to Daniel J
LAYTON in
Clark Co IL in Jun 1832. Marmaduke was born abt 1817 in NC and
is the son
of Thomas MAPLES and Rachel TAYLOR. Thomas MAPLES' father was
also
Marmaduke MAPLES, I'm almost positive of that. Rachel TAYLOR
Maples'
parents were Benjamin TAYLOR and Christenah FULBRIGHT. There was
a Thomas
MAPLES in the 1850 census of Stoddard Co MO. Thomas MAPLES' age
was in
the 60's, but there no children listed in the home. In the 1860
census
there were 4 siblings living together in Castor twp, hse #684.
Their
names were William A. MAPLES, age 20, bp MO; Elizabeth MAPLES,
age 18, bp
MO; Lawson MAPLES, age 16, bp MO; and John MAPLES, age 13, bp
MO. I am
thinking these children are Marmaduke MAPLES who md an unknown
LARENCE
(name could be spelled different ways, ex: LORANCE, LAWRENCE).
The
siblings info I have gathered is: William A. MAPLES married Ruth
C. YORK
on 01Oct1865. They had three known children; John A.; Mary Jane;
and
Francis Marion. William A. MAPLES died 22Apr1876. Widow, Ruth C.
MAPLES
married Frederic(k) MASTERS on 14Jan1877. John A MAPLES married
Catharine
MASTERS on 08Sep1865 and then to E.M. LAMB on 03Apr1869. I have
nothing
on Elizabeth or Lawson MAPLES. There are three MAPLES who are
listed in
the marriage book for Stoddard Co, who are W.L. MAPLES md in
1897; James
L. MAPLES md in 1888; and William H. MAPLES md in 1885. I
haven't figured
out who these are, yet. If anyone knows anything on these
families
listed, please email me at loiscarmack@hotmail.com. Thanks for
reading
