DELBERT  FOREST  CARY

D. F. Cary Passed Away.

     D. F. Cary passed away at 11 o'clock Saturday morning, March 31. Death occurred at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Paul Lyons, in Metz, where he has been making his home for some time.
While death was sudden and a shock to all, it was not unexpected as doctors had warned his loved ones that the end might come at any time.
Funeral services were held at the Christian church in Metz at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Earl Bingham and assisted by Rev. R. A. Blalock. Burial was by the side of his wife in Balltown cemetery.
A duet, composed of Mrs. Homer Lyons and Mrs. Howard Lyons, sang "The Lights of Home," and "No Disappointment in Heaven." Miss Roberta Brown sang "Going Down the Valley." Mrs. C. R. Lawrence was at the piano.

Pallbearers were Merle Alexander, Crawford Graham, Louis Ragan, Art Brown, Claud Pettit and Frank Brown.
Delbert Forest Cary, son of Baker and Margaret Cary, was born just east of Metz, April 13, 1871, and departed this life March 31, 1951. Had he lived until April 13, he would have been 80 years of age.
On September 30, 1894, he was united in marriage to Stella M. Rynard, who preceded him in death on May 27, 1945.
To this union were born 1 son, Joe M. Cary of West Plains and 2 daughters, Mrs. Isa D. Brown of near Rich Hill and Mrs. Roxie M. Lyons of Metz, all of whom are left to mourn his passing. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Deceased was the last of a family of 6 children. Preceding him in death were 1 brother, Will Cary and 4 sisters, Lea Scrutchfield, Nevada Summers, Serena Bedford and Lizzie Harbin.
In early manhood Mr. Cary united with the Christian church and was a faithful member until the end.
He had spent his entire lifespan of 80 years in this community.
