AGED CITIZEN PASSED AWAY

Henry W. Harrison Was Born in London and Came to
America When Nine Years Old.

Had Lived in Vernon County and Nevada Thirty-Four
Years, Coming Here in 1882.

Henry W. Harrison, aged 77 years, passed away at his home in Nevada
Tuesday night of asthma and general debility. He had been in poor
health for the last two years but his last illness was of but four weeks
duration.
Mr. Harrison was born in London, England, and came with his parents to
the United States when he was nine years old, and settled in Orange
county, Indiana. He came to Vernon county, in 1882 and settled in
Lake township, where he lived until a few years ago, when he retired and
moved to Nevada.
In 1886 he was married to Mrs. Susan Modie, of Vernon county, who
survives him, as does also their three sons: Charles Harrison of
Glenwood Springs, Colo., and John M. and Edward Harrison of Lake
township, also his step daughter, Mrs. Bertha Lux, of Nevada.
During the Civil War Mr. Harrison served in the Union army, and was a
member of the G. A. R. Post at Nevada. He has been a member of the
United Brethren church, since he was a young man.
Mr. Harrison was well and favorably known in the northwest part of the
county and in Nevada, and leaves many friends to mourn his death.
The funeral arrangements will not be made until the arrival of his son
from Colorado.
