DEATH OF A. J. LONGACRE

Was One of the Oldest and Most Highly Esteemed Residents

 of This County.

     A. J. Longacre, one of the oldest and most highly esteemed residents of this county, died Friday at his home on West Arch street, his death being due to paralyses and old age. The deceased was one of the oldest residents of the county, being nearly eighty years of age, and had lived here more than forty years. He came to Vernon county many years ago from Johnson county and up to about five years ago resided in the county.  During his residence in Nevada he has been ill most of the time.  The deceased was a member of the South Methodist church, and he was a faithful and consistent member, his life being in harmony with his belief in the teachings of his Master.  He was a splendid citizen and an indulgent father, who loved his home and there found his greatest happiness.

Mr. Longacre is survived by two daughters Mrs. Paul Wray and Mrs. Finch, and five sons, John, Bayles, William, Hugh and Howard.

Southwest Mail, Nevada, Vernon Co, MO. November 15, 1907.
