YOUNG FOLKS WED
Paul Lyons and Miss Roxie
Cary are Married.
Paul Lyons and Miss Roxie
Cary were united in marriage at Warrensburg on Wednesday, September 19.
To keep it from their friends the popular couple drove to Rich Hill and
boarded the train for Warrensburg. Eld. R. A. Blalock, who was holding
a protracted meeting in Johnson county, appeared in that city and
performed the ceremony at the court house at 2 o’clock p.m. Paul and
his bride returned the next day.
A large crowd gathered at
the home of the groom’s parents Friday night and gave the newly weds a
rousing reception, enjoying the time until a late hour.
The happy couple will be
at home on the Lyons place in a few days.
Paul is the eldest son of
Mr. and Mrs. W. I. Lyons. He was reared in this locality and everyone
knows him as an exemplary young man, honest and ever industrious.
The bride is the eldest
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. F. Cary. She is a native of Metz township,
as likewise were her forefathers for three generations back. Roxie is a
young lady possessed with a lovable disposition and charming manners and
knows everyone as friends. Both have chosen wisely for helpmeets, and
they have the best wishes of scores and scores of friends.
