There Will be a Wreck!  An Account of the 1904 World's Fair Missouri Pacific Train Wreck.

By Lyndon N. Irwin, PhD.  On October 10, 1904, there was a head-on collision of two Missouri Pacific trains. One of them was a westbound passenger train packed with excited people on their way to visit the St. Louis World's Fair. In the wreck, which occurred between Warrensburg and Knob Noster, MO, 30 people were killed and many more were injured. They were from the Kansas towns of Kingman, Dexter, Cedar Vale, Sedan, Coffeyville, Edna, and Pittsburg; the Missouri towns of Bronaugh, Liberal, Moundville, and Nevada. This book tells the touching and tragic stories of one of the worst Mo-Pac train wrecks of that time. Illustrations by Barbara Jean Marlow Irwin. Fourth printing 2005. 150-page softbound book; 5¼ x 8½
