BEARDEN, PEVRIL
I am researching my husbands family tree and wonder if there
is any information on either BEARDEN or PEVRIL. they were his grand parents.
they married in Reynolds Co. but moved to Wayne Co. Their full names were
Joseph (Joe) PEVRIL and Martha Jane BEARDEN. They had 6 children. I can
only track on family from their children. And I cannot find out any information
about the BEARDEN's. Can anyone suggest where I might start checking for
information? I am stumped. I know of their graves in the local cemetary
but that is it. I would also be interested in their ancestors if known.

FISSEL
I am researching the FISSEL family who were in Wayne County
as early as 1850. The family came from Ohio and Indiana. JOHN FISSEL and
wife JANE COX evidently died around the time of the Civil War and should
be buried in Wayne County. It is family legend that John Fissel was "Black
Dutch", I know now his ancestors immigrated from the Rhine Valley
to York County Pennsylvania where he was born ca. 1805. The Fissel children
migrated to Oregon County,MO and northern AR after the war. Any help greatly
appreciated in locating their graves or any info at all.

BEATY
I am seeking information on Frank O.and William R. BEATY in
SE MO (Wayne, Butler, Stoddard counties). Frank O. BEATY (b.abt 1832 in
VA or TN) first married Barbara Ann ? and second married Martha ? (b.abt
1846 in TN). Based on census data from 1860 and 1850, I suspect that Frank
had a relative (brother?) named Winchester who settled in Wayne Co. from
TN or NC and Frank followed. Frank’s children by Barbara Ann were Henry
(b. abt 1850 in MO), William R. BEATY (b.abt 1853 in Lowdes, Waynes Co,
MO), Sarah J. (b.abt 1856), and Eliza E. (b.abt 1857). William married
Susanne E. MILLS (b.1853- d.1895). They had the following children: William
R. (b.1879-d.1947), Robert, James, Sherman, Winifred, Mary, Ida, and Tiny.
Son of William was William R. BEATY (b.1879-d.1947), married Lou Ada Pearl
WILLS (b.1886). William and Lou are my great grandparents. Judith Robinson.

AVANTS, AVANCE
I am looking for the father of John William Avants and Robert
Harris Avance. I have found records indicating a Danil Avance, Isom Avant,
and John Avants in Wayne County in the 1830 Census. I have found no evidence
to indicate which if any is their father. Records indicate that the family
moved from Ripley County, Missouri to Pocahontas, Tennessee (Hardemann
County) in the 1820's. John William Avants was born in Pocahontas on June
29, 1827. Robert Harris Avance (Changed name from Avants in 1860's) was
born in Tennessee in 1834. They also had a sister, Anna Jane Avants and
possibly a sister named Mary Avants. We believe their father either a son
of Peter Avent and Amy Massie Avent, or a grandson. Their father could
have been Isham/Isom, John, William, or Danil. Any assistance would be
greatly appreciated.

SUTHERLIN
My Grandfather is from Wayne County, as was his father. His
father's father, my G-G-Grandfather moved there in the early 19th century
from Indiana.
Their names were, in ascending order, starting with my Grandfather: Robert
Montgomery Sutherlin, Charles Wesley Sutherlin and my G-G-Grandfather,
Isham Sutherlin.
Charles married Mary Elizabeth Montgomery, and Isham's wife was Rebecca
Johnson. Mary's father was Nathan or Nathaniel Miller Montgomery and his
father was Robinson Montgomery, also early Wayne Co. (or at least early
Missouri) inhabitants.
If you show any Sutherlin in your records, it is probably a relative, as
Isham had several children, as did Charles. Charles was supposed to have
fought in the Civil War there, but find no record. Is that because the
records were burned in the court house fires that I read about on you home
page?
Can you help? Thanks for anything that you can do for me.

My father's family lived in St. Francois Township, near Greenville, Wayne

the name ALEX STEPHENS. He was born Jan. 27, 1847 and died Nov. 16, 1926.
He was a farmer. He married MARY E.P.RUBOTTOM born 1856 and died after
1896 and before 1900. They had ten children, SOPHIA,THOMAS Y., JAMES A.,
ELI,WILLIAM, MAY, HARVE, ETHEL, FRANK (my father), and RAFE. After the
death of my farher's mother his father married IDA (last name unknown).
They had five children. I think the father of JAMES ALEXANDER STEPHENS
was YOUNG FINAS STEPHENS, I think the father of MARY E. P. RUBOTTOM was
THOMAS P. RUBOTTOM, son of EZEKIEL RUBOTTOM and PARMELIA PARISH. The mother
of MARY E.P. RUBOTTOM was MARY COX, of which I know nothing. Can anyone
