Coon Creek Cemetery

Coon Creek Cemetery has for years been a gathering place for friends and family on Memorial Day. Reminiscing is the order of the day. It was because of my memories that I am providing this information to help you recall a part of the past. Hopefully this will spark your memories and keep these loved ones who, although gone, are not forgotten. ..../Carol Robertson

Coon Creek Cemetery is located 8 ½ miles northeast of Hartville on Coon Creek Road.
Land for the Cemetery was purchased from Johannon and Sarah R. Smith for the sum of $10. It is believed they are buried here although their graves are unmarked.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

Sources used: Wright County Historical Society publications, census records, old funeral home records, obituaries from Holman Howe Funeral Home, the Internet, Social Security Death Index and Missouri Death Certificates.

Special Thanks to: Vicki Stewart who helped me with my first reading of this cemetery; Bob and Doris Allen who assisted with the research; Phyllis Rippee, who not only helped with research but gave me the encouragement to keep working on and completing this book.

A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU to my husband Lloyd Robertson, a long-time devoted caretaker of the cemetery. And for his patient understanding during the many hours it took for me to compile this information.

***********************************************************************

Order of information: Name; dates; parents' names ( with mother's maiden name); spouse and marriage date; children with daughter's married name and  husband's given name; siblings with sister's married names and with husband's given name. If a person was married more than once, I have attempted to list the children immediately after the spouse to whom they belonged.

In some cases I was unable to find any information. In some cases, I was unable to find all that I wanted to know.
