      Long, Frances “Frank” Oscar  (Jun. 10, 1878 – Mar. 8, 1902):  s/o Samuel Long and Francis Ann Johnston; siblings: Rena Belle [Davidson], Miama J. [Goodrick/Porterfield], Wilbert Sherman Long, Andrew Howard Long, John R. Long.  While working at William Smith’s sawmill, Frank was accidently thrown against the saw and received injuries that resulted in his death an hour or two later.

      Long, John Richard  (Mar. 14, 1872 – Oct. 21, 1940): s/o Samuel A. Long and Frances Johnston; siblings: Rena Belle [Davidson], Miama J. [Goodrich/Porterfield], Wilbert Sherman Long, Andrew Howard Long and Frances Oscar Long.  John died in his home when it burned.  He lived alone having separated shortly after being married.  Neighbors heard 2 gun shots before seeing the fire.  He was not known to have any enemies, or a large amount of money.  Sheriff Baker promised an investigation.

      Middleton, Elmer  (Jul. 9, 1872 – Jul. 4, 1896):  s/o John Alexander Middleton and Mary Emma (Oliver) [Pegram]; siblings: James Allen Middleton, Addie Ann [Bartley], Edmer Middleton, Edna [Todd], Robert Morris Middleton, Joseph Andrew Middleton and Emma Josephine [Martin].  Elmer was found “groaning in the orchard” and died a short time afterwards.  Elmer, Edmer and Edna were triplets.

      Smalley, John Latta (Nov. 12, 1859 – Jun 13, 1896); s/o John Smalley and Edna Wyatt; married Amanda Jane Davis in 1875; children Mary Etta Smalley, Adar Benjamin Smalley, Christina Smalley, Charles Smalley, Dona Viola [Bryant], Ethyl Smalley and Roy Frederick Smalley.  [John took training in Arkansas to be a United Brethern Church minister, but moved to an area where there were no United Brethern Churches.  He switched his affiliation to Cumberland Presbyterian.  Was a Cumberland Presbyterian circuit riding minister for the southern circuit of MO.  He moved the family to Fuson, MO area because of his Cumberland Presbyterian duties.  After his death, the family remained here until 1914 when they moved to Springfield, MO.]
