Co MO #416; legend is that Jonathan left his Wolf Creek homestead when
the Civil War began and took some of his family and the two sons of his
son Noah, to IL, and it is believed that Jonathan MOODY died on their
way back to Wright Co MO; upon return, the family found that they had lost
the homestead to taxes; A letter by Henry MOODY of Wolf Creek,
MO lets us know Jonathan was alive in 1866; LETTER: Wright County
Missouri this June 27 day 1866, Dear Brother, Sister, Children,
I tak my pen to rite you a few lines to let you know we are well.
Hoping these lines May come Safe to your hands find you all well.
I hant got much to rite. Only I recevid youre kind leter the 23 day
of this month which give me grate Satisfaction to hear from you all. Sorry
to here you had to stop. I have bin looking for you this long time.
I hope
you will get here soon. ($137.) You rote to me brother to know how

hit wood take to redeem Your land, hit will take one hundred and 37dollars.
Hit will not sell till September or October hit shant sell ifI can help
hit. I have money coming to me but I hant got hit yet and Iwant you to

her two young sons, Jonathan and Billy, with her. She shortly died, leaving
them to be reared byrelatives -- whether exclusively Moody or McKindley
relatives is notentirely clear; She was d/o Samuel McKINDLEY & Sarah

B. TATE, having been a member of the same CO, said Alfred ADAMSON had the
measles which settled on his lungs which affected him in his lungs from
that time to the date of his discharge & that it seemed to result in
general disability he was never stout again like he was before he had the
measles, William ADAMSON states he had known Alfred for twenty-five years
and that Alfred was confined to his bed for two weeks before he died complaining
of his breast hurting, Alford ADAMSON states that Sarah ADAMSON is now
sick and likely to die soon and has no means of support only the contributions
of others that her neighbors and her children gaves her her entire support;
Sarah ADAMSON pensioner was last paid $8.00 to 04 Aug 1900 and has been
dropped because of death, date not given.
