STITH; John C STITH and Mahala nee: STITH, were on 1860 Wright Co MO #623;
They and Mahala's sister, Caroline (Stith) Kincheloe and husband Phillip,
came from Meade Co KY to Wright Co, MO ca 1850. In 1854, they bought land
in the northern part
of
Montgomery Township, next to the Laclede Co MO Line, their brother,
George
Hightower Stith had already settled in Laclede Co. John C. and
Mahala
(Stith) Stith had children: Sarah "Sally" Ann married David Daniel
Cutbirth/Cutburth; Richard; Caroline; Malvina R. married George Valentine
Morgan; Olive B. married George Garrett; John; Alonzo. In the 1860's
John C. Stith returned to Kentucky, leaving some, if not all, of his family
behind. He was listed in 1870 census of Meade Co KY, married to a
lady whose name was Margaret. He died in Meade Co KY 1 March 1880,
at the age of 70, and is buried at Caps Anderson Cemetery, in Brandenburg,
KY; Caroline (Stith) Kincheloe is known to have been living in Competition,
MO in 1895, she would have been about 87 years old.
