Alma
Edith Wakefield, daughter of Peter Otto and Susie Ethel McAllister Carlson,
was born Apr 14, 1904, in Norwood, MO. She departed this life Nov
2, 1990, in the Cabool Nursing Home, Cabool, MO, at the age of 86 years,
6 months and 18 days. On Mar 22, 1926, she was united in marriage
to Ira Earl Wakefield and to this union 4 sons were born. She was
preceded in death by her parents; her husband Earl on Jun 29, 1989; 2 brothers
Ernest and Alfred Carlson; one infant sister; and one other sister Anna
Carlson. Alma is survived by 4 sons Bob Wakefield, Hartville, MO,
Bill Wakefield, Richmond, VA, Don Wakefield, Rogersville, MO, and Dick
Wakefield, Camdenton, MO; 2 sisters Esther Cottengim, state of Utah and
Bertie Lou Raney, Kansas City, MO; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren;
as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and
raised in Norwood and then after she was married, she lived in Hartville
for the rest of her life. She was a devoted wife and mother and loved
making a home for her family. Alma was a long time member of the
Hartville First Baptist Church where she took a very active part in all
areas of the church. She loved her church and enjoyed working in
whatever capacity she was needed. She enjoyed sewing and growing
beautiful flowers and liked having her family and friends around her.
Alma will be fondly remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother,
sister and a caring Christian friend.

Ausber
Amos Wakefield, son of Jacob Amos and Orpha Marietta Crawford Wakefield,
was born Jan 3, 1913, near Norwood, in Wright County, MO. He departed
this life Wednesday, Nov 24, 1993, in the Ozark Care Center in Ozark, MO,
at the age of 80 years, 10 months, and 21 days. On Oct 26, 1941,
he was united in marriage to Helen Bethine Tombleson and together they
shared 52 wonderful years. He was preceded in death by his parents;
2 infant daughters; 1 infant brother, and 2 other brothers Earl and Charles
Wakefield. Ausber is survived by his wife Helen of the home; 2 daughters
Sharon Wakefield of Springfield, MO, and Linda Herrman and her husband
Armin, of Hartville, MO; 2 grandsons Mike and Mathew Herrman; 2 brothers
Paul Wakefield of Hartville, MO, and Lee Wakefield of Springfield, MO;
2 sisters Jean Nickle and Thelma Cox, both of Springfield, MO; a number
of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born on the family farm near Norwood, and then, at the age of 5,
moved with his family to a farm near Hartville. He continued to live
in the Hartville area where he owned and operated his farm throughout his
life. From 1946 until 1952 he was also employed by the Hartville
Farmers Exchange. During his younger years, the farm required most
of his time, but he was always deeply devoted to his wife and family.
In his later years, he enjoyed gardening and having his family, and especially
his grandsons, around him. Ausber was a loving husband, father, grandfather,
brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. He will
be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of his family and many friends.

Ira Earl:
Ira
Earl Wakefield, son of Jacob Amos and Orpha Maryetta Crawford Wakefield,
was born Mar 29, 1902 in Norwood, MO. He departed this life Jun 29,
1989, in Mercy Hospital, Mansfield, MO, at the age of 87 years and 3 months.
On Mar 22, 1926, he was united in marriage to Alma Edith Carlson and to
this union 4 sons were born. He was preceded in death by his parents
and one brother Charles Wakefield. Earl is survived by his wife Alma
of the home; 4 sons Robert Wakefield, Bangkok, Thailand, William Wakefield,
Richmond, VA, Don Wakefield, Rogersville, MO, and Dick Wakefield, Camdenton,
MO; 2 sisters Thelma Cox and Betty Jean Nickle, both of Springfield, MO;
3 brothers Paul and Ausber Wakefield, both of Hartville, MO, and Lee Wakefield,
Springfield, MO; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; also a host
of other relatives and friends. He loved all of his family members
dearly and was a devoted father and grandfather. He lived his entire
life in the Wright County area where he managed the family farm.
During his lifetime he worked as manager of the M.F.A. Feed Store, was
employed at Tri-County Gas Company and later retired from the U.S. Post
Office. Earl was a long time member of the Hartville First Baptist
Church where he was a deacon. He also served as a former Sunday School
director and was very active in all areas of church work. He enjoyed
gardening, spending time with his family and fishing. Being a devoted
fisherman, he spent many pleasurable hours involved in his favorite pastime.
Earl will be fondly remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather,
brother, and a caring friend to all who knew him. Burial: Steele

Paul Everett:
Paul
Everett Wakefield, son of Jacob Amos and Orpha Marietta Crawford Wakefield,
was born Nov 24, 1909, on the family farm near Norwood, MO. He departed
this life Thursday, Jan 19, 1995, in Cox Medical Center South in Springfield,
MO, at the age of 85 years, 1 month and 25 days. On Feb 3, 1941,
he was united in marriage to Delta Oneta Spillman and to this union 1 daughter
and 2 sons were born. He was preceded in death by his parents; an
infant brother, 3 other brothers Earl, Ausber, and Charles Wakefield; 2
sisters-in-law Sylvia and Alma Wakefield; and a brother-in-law Lyle Cox.
Paul is survived by his wife of 53 years Delta of the home; 2 sons and
daughters-in-law Wendell and Myrna Wakefield of Hartville, MO, and Ronnie
and Sandra Wakefield of Mountain Grove, MO; a daughter and son-in-law Janet
and Ted Russell of Hartville, MO; 3 grandsons, Ronald and his wife Tracy,
and Randall Wakefield, all of Springfield, MO, and John Wakefield of Hartville,
MO; 4 granddaughters Jennifer and Christina Wakefield, and Paula and Julie
Russell, all of Hartville, MO; a brother and sister-in-law Lee and Rhea
Wakefield of Springfield, MO; 2 sisters Betty Nickle and her husband Bill,
and Thelma Cox, all of Springfield, MO; 3 sisters-in-law Helen Wakefield
and Bedia Hyde, both of Hartville, MO, and Jewel Murrell of Mountain Grove,
MO; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives
and friends. He was born on the family farm near Norwood and lived
there until the age of 9 when his family moved to Hartville. For
several years, he lived with Uncle Boss Ellis and Aunt Sarah and worked
on their farm. He continued to live in the Hartville area for the
rest of his life where he owned and operated Wakefield Hereford Farms.
Paul was a member of the American Hereford Association and enjoyed taking
care of his Hereford cattle for as long as his health allowed. He
centered his life around his farm and his cattle. He was deeply devoted
to his wife and children and especially loved playing with his grandchildren.
Paul was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, and
was a caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered and
greatly missed by all of his family and many friends. Burial: Steele

Sylvia May:
Sylvia
May Wakefield, daughter of Francis Marion and Iva Mae Hubbard George, was
born Apr 4, 1910, in Teague, MO. She departed this life Dec 22, 1992,
in her home in Irvine, CA, at the age of 82 years, 8 months and 18 days.
On Dec 23, 1933, she was united in marriage to Charles Francis Wakefield,
and to this union one daughter was born. She was preceded in death
by her parents; her husband Charles on Apr 15, 1966; and one sister Goldie
George. Sylvia is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Francie
and Jerry Lazenby of Irvine, CA; one granddaughter Monica Goggin of Fort
Campbell, KY; one grandson Christopher Lazenby of Irvine, CA; as well as
a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in
Webster County and during her childhood, her family moved to Seymour where
she attended and graduated from the Seymour Schools. She later obtained
a teaching degree from the State Teacher's College in Springfield, which
is now Southwest Missouri State University, and a masters degree from Missouri
University. After Sylvia and Charles were married, they made their
home in Hartville where Sylvia taught school. During World War II,
they left Hartville and travelled to the West, but eventually returned
to Hartville in the late 1940's. Sylvia continued with her teaching
until 1970 when she retired from the Hartville School System. In
1980, she moved to Irvine, CA, to be near her daughter and her family.
She was a long time member of the Hartville United Methodist Church where
she had enjoyed her fellowship. She was a member of the Hartville
Rebekah Lodge of which she was a past Noble Grand and also belonged to
the Athenian Club. She enjoyed playing cards and used to belong to
the bridge club. She liked to work in her garden and also enjoyed
fishing. Sylvia was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother and
was a caring and concerned educator, neighbor and friend. She will
be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved

Watts, Jack:
Jack
Watts, son of Ben Harrison and Gracie May Freeman Watts, was born Jan 19,
1939, near Niangua, MO. He departed this life Monday, Jul 11, 1995,
in his home in Hartville, MO, at the age of 56 years, 5 months, and 23
days. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Cindy
Jane, on Oct 16, 1987. Jack is survived by one daughter Christine
Rose of Hartville, MO; one brother Bill Watts of Niangua, MO; 4 sisters
Millie Todd and Elizabeth Todd of Hartville, MO, Martha Bass of Hollister,
MO, and Cleo Krueger of Marshfield, MO; a number of nieces and nephews;
as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Jack was born in
Webster County, and lived there throughout his childhood. In the
early 1960's, he made his home in Hartville where he continued to reside.
During his life, Jack worked as a laborer, and was always willing to lend
a helping hand whenever he could. He liked being around people, and
he especially enjoyed children. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting
and fishing. Jack will be fondly remembered and missed by his family and

Weaver, Everett
Walter:
Everett
Walter Weaver, son of John Walter and Lovie Pearl Van Hooser Weaver, was
born Jan 19, 1921, in Grovespring, MO. He departed this life Jun
9, 1991, in Marshfield, MO, at the age of 70 years, 4 months, and 20 days.
On May 23, 1942, he was united in marriage to Verba Faye Williams and to
this union 2 sons and 1 daughter were born. He was preceded in death
by his father and one brother Verlin Weaver. Everett is survived
by his wife Verba of the home; 2 sons Michael Weaver of Marshfield, MO,
and Randy Weaver of Ink, MO; 1 daughter Brenda Jones of Battlefield, MO;
his mother Lovie Weaver of Lebanon, MO; 4 sisters Mildred Soloman of the
state of Florida, Bonnie Chancelor of Elkland, MO, Norma Darrow of Lebanon,
MO, and Maxine Woodruff of Albuquerque, NM, 2 brothers Dwight Weaver of
Fresno, CA, and Dwayne Weaver of Niangua, MO; 4 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter;
a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and
friends. He lived most of his life in the Wright County area except
for the time he served in the military and from 1948 through 1957 when
he and Verba made their home in Glendale, AZ. For several years he
owned and operated a garage in Lebanon but he mostly worked on his family
farm and was employed as a carpenter doing building construction.
Everett served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army Air Corp from 1942
until 1945. During his service he was a sergeant in the motorpool
and worked as an auto mechanic. He had professed his faith in Christ
and attended the Little Vine Freewill Baptist Church for many years.
He was a devoted family man who loved all of his family very much.
He was a hard worker and enjoyed fishing in his spare time. Everett
will be fondly remembered as a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather,
great-grandfather and a caring friend. Burial: Little Vine

Veden Weaver, son of Lewis Farris and Melissa Jane Williams Weaver, was
born May 26, 1913, in Grovespring, MO. He departed this life May
26, 1993, in the Lebanon Care Center in Lebanon, MO, at the age of 80 years.
On Jun 8, 1934, he was united in marriage to Glennis Mae Greathouse and
to this union one daughter and one son were born. He was preceded
in death by his parents; 2 brothers Corbit and Elvie Weaver; one sister
Grace Daniels; and one grandson Timmy Kaper. Otto is survived by
his wife Glennis of the home; one daughter and son-in-law Bonnie and Bob
Cantrell of Grovespring, MO; one son and daughter-in-law Dwight and Dorothy
Weaver of Grovespring, MO; 2 sisters Pearl Guthrie of Shawnee Mission,
KS, and Clara Atchisson of Grovespring, MO; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren
and 6 step-great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; as well
as a host of other relatives and friends. He lived most all of his
life in the Grovespring area and owned and operated his own dairy farm.
Besides working on the farm, he also did painting jobs in the area.
Otto was a longtime member of the Little Vine Freewill Baptist Church and
attended faithfully for as long as his health permitted. For many
years he was the church song leader. He was a gentle, caring man
who never spoke a cross word. He always had a warm smile for everyone
and enjoyed visiting with his many friends. He liked listening to
gospel music and doing his farm work. Otto was a devoted and loving
husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, and was a
caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered and greatly
missed by all of his family and many friends. Burial: Little Vine

Herl:
Mickey
Herl Weihs, son of Ray Franklin and Orland Mae Munden Weihs, was born Sep
1, 1933, in Wright County, MO. He departed this life Wednesday, May
21, 1997, in his home, near Seymour, MO, at the age of 63 years, 8 months
and 20 days. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mickey
is survived by 2 daughters Denise and Sherry Weihs, both of the state of
Oklahoma; a brother Adrian Weihs of Trenton Falls, NJ; a number of nieces,
nephews, and cousins; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Hartville area. He served his country
faithfully in the U.S. Air Force from 1957 until 1962. During the
1970's, he moved to Springfield, MO, where he worked in the insurance business
and later was employed by the Springfield Fire Department. Due to
ill health, he retired back to the Wright County area in the late 1980's.
Mickey had made his profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the
New Hope Baptist Church. He was also a member of the International
Brotherhood of Fireman and Oilers in Springfield. In his spare time
he enjoyed hunting, welding, and working with machinery. Mickey will
be fondly remembered and greatly mised by all those who knew and loved

Orland
Mae Weihs, daughter of Levi Thomas and Lillie Liming Munden, was born Jul
29, 1898 in Greene County, MO. She departed this life Tuesday, Jan
11, 1994, in St. John's Regional Health Center in Springfield, MO, at the
age of 95 years, 5 months and 12 days. On Nov 2, 1919, she was united
in marriage to Ray Franklin Weihs and to this union 2 sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband Ray in March
of 1960. Orland is survived by her two sons Mickey Weihs of Seymour,
MO, and Adrian Weihs of the state of New Jersey; a number of grandchildren
and great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; as well as a host
of other relatives and friends. She was born in Greene County and
lived in the country until she was in her middle teens when she and her
family moved into Springfield. While living in the city, she met
and married Ray and they continued to live there until moving to Wright
County in 1933. She was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family
throughout the years. Orland was an active member of the New Hope
Baptist Church where, for a number of years, she played the piano for services.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading and playing the piano, and was
a very caring lady who was always ready to help anyone in need. Orland
was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother,
and was a kind and caring neighbor and friend. She will be long remembered
and greatly missed. Burial: Mount Zion Cemetery

May Widner, daughter of Abraham and Ann Pearman Huffstetler, was born May
14, 1902, near Hartville, MO. She departed this life Tuesday, Feb
15, 1994, in her home near Hartville, MO, at the age of 91 years, 9 months
and 1 day. On May 17, 1922, she was united in marriage to Sherman
Alva Widner and to this union 2 sons wre born. She was preceded in
death by her parents; her husband Sherman on Feb 9, 1950; 3 sisters Auley
Shumate, Leta and Inis Huffstetler; and 5 brothers Jesse, Arden, Homer,
Richard and Willis Huffstetler. Edna is survived by her 2 sons and
daughters-in-law Nick and Dorothy Widner, and Carl and Beverly Widner,
all of Hartville, MO; 2 brothers Alva Huffstetler of Hartville, MO, and
Luther Huffstetler of Wichita, KS; 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchldren;
3 sisters-in-law Lela Huffstetler of Hartville, MO, Hilda Huffstetler of
Mason City, IA, and Thona Huffstetler of Salinas, CA; a number of nieces
and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She
was born and raised in Wright County and then, after she and Sherman were
married, they moved to Wyoming for 13 years. They returned to the
Hartville area where they operated a farm and lovingly raised their family.
Throughout her life she worked along side her husband in operating their
stock farm. Edna had professed her faith in Christ and was a longtime
member of Little Creek Baptist Church where she was the oldest member of
the congregation. She was a charter member and the first president
of the Elmer E. Sellers American Legion Auxiliary Post # 45, a member of
the Little Creek Home Economist Club for over 60 years and a member of
the Registered Hereford Association. She was a devoted homemaker
that enjoyed cooking, raising the family, and working on the farm.
She centered her life around her sons and family and enjoyed life to the
fullest. Edna was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother,
sister, and a caring neighbor and friend. She will be fondly remembered
and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Burial: Little

Alva Eugene Widner, son of Nick Eugene and Debra Kay Moore Widner, was
born Feb 11, 1991, in Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, MO, and departed
this life Feb 21, 1991, at the age of 10 days and 1 hour. He is survived
by his parents, Nick and Debra Widner, Hartville, MO; his paternal grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. Nick Widner, Hartville, MO; his maternal grandparents, Mr.
and Mrs. Danny Moore, Hartville, MO; 2 paternal great-grandmothers, Edna
Widner, Hartville, MO, and Velma Glasscock, Springfield, MO; his maternal
great-grandfather Freddie Crawford, Farmington, MO; his maternal great-grandparents,
Eugene and Dorothy Moore, Hartville, MO; his maternal great-great-grandmother,
Vera Moore, Hartville; a number of aunts, uncles and cousins; as well as
a host of other relatives and friends. Even though he lived a very
short time, he touched many lives and was deeply loved by all of his family.

Fielding Widner, son of Marve and Armitta Matilda Vaughn Widner, was born
Dec 1, 1912, near Hartville, MO. He departed this life Oct 4, 1993,
in his home near Hartville, MO, at the age of 80 years, 10 months and 3
days. He was preceded in death by his parents. Sam is survived
by 2 brothers, Warren Widner of Hartville, MO, and Sanford Widner of Springfield,
MO; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives
and friends. He was born and raised on the family farm near Hartville
where he continued to live throughout his adult years. When he was
younger, he worked for the telephone company, dynamiting for new telephone
lines. He also worked the farm for most of his life. He was
a source of knowledgeable information of the local area and liked to read
in his spare time. He was basicly a person who enjoyed staying close
to home where he found enjoyment in caring for his cattle. He also
was interested in the caves of the area and liked to visit with his friends.
Sam will be fondly remembered and missed by his family and many friends.

Arch
Williams, son of Halk and Clara Street Williams, was born Aug 16, 1909
in Wright County, MO. He departed this life Wednesday, Nov 16, 1994,
in his home near Hartvcille, MO, at the age of 85 years and 3 months.
On Jun 6, 1931, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Vernice Moody and
to this union one son and one daughter were born. He was preceded
in death by his parents; and his daughter Patricia Latimer. Arch
is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law
C. H. and Betty Williams of Hartville, MO; a brother Don Williams of Shoshone,
ID; 8 grandchildren Sherry Wynn Williams, Wallace Williams, Lynne Lee,
Patty "P.J." Pollard, Steve Goslee, Mike Goslee, Mitzi Robinson and Stacy
Williams; 11 great-grandchildren; as well as a host of other relatives
and friends. He lived most of his life on his farm on the Gasconade
River near the Hartville community. He devoted his life to working
on his farm where he raised stock cattle and had previously run a dairy
operation. His family was very important to him and he was especially
fond of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In his spare time
he enjoyed fishing and quail hunting. Arch was a loving husband,
father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, and was a caring neighbor
and friend. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all
of his family and many friends.

Chester
Lee Williams, son of John and Linda Webb Williams, was born Apr 16, 1934
in Wright County, MO, near Grovespring. He departed this life Sunday,
May 15, 1994, in Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, AR,
at the age of 60 years and 29 days. He was preceded in death by his
parents; one sister Joyce Stevens; and 4 brothers Willis, Stanley, Edward
and Dale Williams. Chester is survived by his daughter and son-in-law
Shannon and Tyler Haden of Republic, MO; a grandson Chandler Haden; 2 brothers
Darris and Gerald Williams, both of Springfield, MO; a sister Joan Mallory
of Seymour, MO; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other
relatives and friends. He was born north of Grovespring and, as a
young boy, moved with this family to Nebraska. Later the family returned
to Missouri where they lived near Lebanon. Chester served his country
faithfully in the U.S. Army from 1953 until 1956. After being discharged
from the service, he made his home in Nebraska and in California for a
number of years, and then later moved to Springfield, MO, where he lived
for several years. Since January of 1994, he had made his home in
Siloam Springs, AR. He had professed his faith in Christ and was
a member of the General Baptist Church in Ozark, MO. He had received
Associate Degrees in Lithographic Technology and Culinary Arts from Oklahoma
State University. He enjoyed cooking and studying genealogy and the
Civil War. Chester was a devoted father, grandfather, and brother
and was a caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered
and greatly missed by all of his family and many friends. Burial:

Darris
Lavelle Williams, son of John L. and Linda C. Webb Williams, was born Oct
3, 1938, near Grovespring, in Wright County, MO. He departed this
life Monday, Oct 27, 1997, in his home in Springfield, MO, at the age of
59 years and 24 days. He was preceded in death by his parents; a
sister Joyce Stevens; and 6 brothers Willis, Stanley, Edward, Chester,
Dale, and Gerald Williams. Darris is survived by a sister and brother-in-law
Joan and Gerald Mallory of Seymour, MO; a sister-in-law Rosemarie Williams
of Springfield, MO; a special niece and nephew Erin and Sean Williams,
both of Springfield, MO; a number of other nieces and nephews; an aunt
Aleen Eilenstein of Lebanon, MO; as well as a host of other relatives and
friends. He was born in the Grovespring area and, at the age of eight,
moved with his family to Nebraska. The family, and Darris, later
returned to Missouri and made their home in Laclede County. He served
his country faithfully in the U.S. Army in the 1950's. After being
honorably discharged from the military, he made his home in Springfield,
MO, where he worked 22 years for American Linen Supply. He retired
in November of 1996, when his health began to fail. In his spare
time he enjoyed being outdoors, where he liked to go fishing and hunting.
Darris will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew

at the age of 53 years, 2 months and 5 days. On Feb 27, 1971, he
was united in marriage to Rosemarie Secor, and to this union one son and
one daughter were born. He was preceded in death by his parents;
a sister Joyce Stevens; and 5 brothers Willis, Stanley, Edward, Chester
and Dale Williams. Gerald is survived by his wife of 25 years, Rose,
of the home; a son Sean Williams of Springfield, MO; a daughter Erin Williams
of Springfield, MO; a brother Darris Williams of Springfield, MO; a sister
and brother-in-law Joan and Gerald Mallory of Seymour, MO; an aunt Aleen
Eilenstein of Lebanon, MO; an uncle Chris Webb of the state of Colorado;
a number of nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews; several
cousins; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was
born in Wright County, MO, and lived in Nebraska and in Laclede County,
MO, before graduating from Seymour High School. From 1961 until Oct
1962, he served his country faithfully in the U.S. Air Force. After
his time in the military, he attended college in California, and then began
his career in the insurance business. He retired as a senior Vice-President
of the underwriting department for American Chambers Insurance Company,
after having worked for other insurance companies throughout the years.
He and Rose and their family eventually moved to Springfield, MO.
He enjoyed sports of all kinds, had played baseball in his early years,
and was coach of a girls basketball team, and was active in the Pony League
Basebll program. He centered his life around his family and his work,
and loved reading in his spare time. Gerald was a loving husband,
father, brother, nephew, uncle and cousin, and was a caring neighbor and
friend. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of

Josie
Fean Izina Moore Wimberly, daughter of Homer Foyett and Dethena Akers Stephenson,
was born Mar 29, 1919, near Clinton, MO. She departed this life Saturday,
Mar 29, 1997, in Autumn Oaks Care Center, in Mountain Grove, MO, at the
age of 78 years. In 1935, she was united in marriage to William M.
"Buster" Moore, and to this union 6 sons and 3 daughters were born.
Mr. Moore preceded her in death in February of 1961. In 1964, she
was united in marriage to Lloyd Wimberly, who passed away in 1978.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter Mary
Ellen Moore; 8 brothers Elsworth, William, Charley, Elmer, Ralph, John,
Walter, and Robert Stephenson, Jr.; and 2 sisters Anna Bell Moore and Alice
Trusty. Josie is survived by 6 sons Carl D., Billy Joe, Robert Lee,
and Kenneth Dale Moore, all of Hartville, MO, and Clarence and Ronald Roy
Moore, both of Mountain Grove, MO; 2 daughters Mildred Moore of Taft, CA,
and Joann Moore of Mountain Grove, MO; 34 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren;
a sister Ora Lee Cutbirth of Hartville, MO; a brother Homer Stephenson
of the state of Indiana; a half-sister Lucille Brown of Union, MO; a half-brother
Clifford Trusty of Union, MO; several nieces and nephews; as well as a
host of other relatives and friends. She was born near Clinton, MO,
and, at the age of 7, moved with her family to Wright County where she
lived the rest of her life. After she and "Buster" were married they
made their home near Hartville, and lovingly raised their family.
Throughout the years, she was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family.
Josie was of the Pentecostal Church faith. She enjoyed working in
her yard and garden, and liked taking care of her chickens. Her family
was very important to her and she loved spending time with them.
Josie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and
aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. She will be fondly remembered
and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Burial: Oak

Edna Wiseman, daughter of Eugene Warren and Hannah Frances Buttram Stanley,
was born Oct 10, 1934, near Hartville, MO. She departed this life
Wednesday, Oct 4, 1995, in St. John's Regional Health Center, in Springfield,
MO, at the age of 60 years, 11 months, and 24 days. In 1949, she
was united in marriage to Vernon Cole, and to this union 2 sons were born.
Mr. Cole preceded her in death on Apr 12, 1979. On Apr 30, 1986,
she was united in marriage to Otto Ellsworth Wiseman, and together they
shared 9 years. She was also preceded in death by her father; and
a son Jeffery Eugene Cole. Louise is survived by her husband, Junior,

She was born and raised near Hartville and graduated from Hartville High
school. She lived most of her adult years in Wright County and worked
15 years for the H. D. Lee Company. Louise was a member of the Church
of Christ and faithfully attended services at Shaddy Chapel. She
was a member of the American Angus Association and enjoyed raising and
caring for her cattle. She was very devoted to her family and her
church. Louise was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt,
and was a kind and caring neighbor and friend. She will be fondly
remembered and greatly missed by all of her family and many friends.

born Dec 13, 1907, in Manes, MO. She departed this life Sep 1, 1990,
in her home in Hartville, MO, at the age of 82 years, 8 months and 18 days.
On Jan 19, 1929, she was united in marriage to Lewis Paul Wood and to this
union 4 sons and 6 daughters were born. She was preceded in death
by her parents; her husband Lewis on Sep 26, 1968; one infant brother;
and one granddaughter Jacqueline Lea Wood. Iva is survived by 6 daughters
Betty Barr, Hartville, MO, Hazel Crighton, Springfield, MO, Lottie Wedgeworth,
Rogersville, MO, and Georgia, Dollie and Helen Wood, all of Springfield,
MO; 4 sons Joe Wood, Hartville, MO, Jerry Wood, Siloam Springs, AR, Jackie
Wood, California, MO, and Jessie Wood, Joplin, MO; 2 brothers Vearl Rowe,
Mountain Grove, MO, and Ovle Rowe, Miller, MO; one sister Lavell Curtis,
Hartville, MO; 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; a number of nieces

was a life long resident of Wright county. Iva was saved early in
her life at the Manes Baptist Church and had made her peace with the Lord.
Iva was a devoted homemaker, a kind and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother
and a special sister. She enjoyed having her flowers and her garden.
She also spent many hours doing her fancy handwork crafts and helping others
in their time of need. Iva's kind and loving words and pleasant smile
will be missed by her family, relatives, friends, neighbors and all who

Irene Wood, daughter of Fred and Jerretta Lucas Moore, was born Oct 13,
1933, near Norwood, MO. She departed this life Monday, Feb 20, 1995,
in St. John's Regional Health Center in Springfield, MO, at the age of
61 years, 4 months, and 7 days. On Jun 6, 1957, she was united in
marriage to Dwight Eldon Wood, and together they shared 37 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Oleta Renfrow; and 3
brothers Vernon, Herbert, and Shelby Moore. Irene is survived by
her husband Dwight of the home; 3 daughters Renetta Thomson, Diane Snow
and Beverly Fulbright, all of Springfield, Mo; 2 sons David Wood of Springfield,
MO, and Dwight Moore of Colorado Springs, CO; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren;
2 step-grandchildren; a brother Shirley Moore of Norwood, MO; 4 sisters
Della Dugger, Helen Dixon, and Freeda Dugger, all of Hartville, MO, and
Sharon Renfrow of Norwood, MO; a number of nieces and nephews; as well
as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised
on the family farm near Norwood, and lived there until she met and married
Dwight. For a while, she and Dwight lived in the Odin community and
then in Springfield and Hartville, before officially making their home
in Springfield in 1964. Throughout the years, she was a devoted wife,
mother, and homemaker. She was an accomplished seamstress and did
sewing for others as well as for herself. She had a great love for
children and did babysitting at different times. She was adored by
all the neighborhood children and became their "adopted grandmother."
Irene had made her profession of faith in Christ and followed the Freewill
Baptist faith. She had recently attended services at Black Oak Freewill
Baptist Church. She enjoyed painting, cooking, gardening, sewing
and making doll clothes. Irene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother, and sister, and was a kind and caring neighbor and friend.
She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew

L. Wood, daughter of Nevels Asberry and Nella Ella Nicholson Newton, was
born Apr 5, 1894, in Odin, MO. She departed this life Jan 20, 1992,
in Hillhaven Convalescent Center in Springfield, MO, at the age of 97 years,
9 months and 15 days. On Feb 7, 1921, she was united in marriage
to Henry Alvis Wood and to this union one son and one daughter were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry, on Dec 16,
1961; her daughter Wistra Oliver; and one sister Roxie Hedrick. Opal
is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Dwight and Irene Wood of Springfield,
MO; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren;
2 nieces and 2 nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Odin community and lived almost all of her
life in Wright County, MO. She was a devoted homemaker who loved
her family dearly. Opal and Henry were both musically inclined and
enjoyed attending sing-ins and other musical concerts whenever they could.
Opal had many friends and neighbors and enjoyed spending time visiting
with them. She loved birds and enjoyed raising and selling canaries.
She provided excellent care of her birds and greatly loved tending to their
needs and watching them. Opal will be fondly remembered as a loving
mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt and

Lunell Wood, son of William Benjamin "W.B." and Iva Shores Wood, was born
Jul 20, 1911 near Norwood, MO. He departed this life Tuesday, Oct
19, 1993, in St. John's Regional Health Center in Springfield, MO, at the
age of 82 years, 2 months and 29 days. On May 27, 1946, he was united
in marriage to Ruth Akins and to this union 2 daughters were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Raymond is survived by his
wife Ruth of the home; 2 daughters and sons-in-law Saundra and Ron Weaver
of Lee's Summit, MO, and Brenda and Keith Curtiss of Rockaway Beach, MO;
3 grandsons Kevin Combs of Lincoln, NE, Stephen Weaver of Kansas City,
MO, and Christopher Chism of Walnut Grove, MO; one great-granddaughter
Chloe Ann Weaver of Kansas City, MO; 2 sisters Maxine Smith, and her husband
Leonard, of Carlsbad, CA, and Dorothy Marquez of Laguna Beach, CA; 3 nephews
Larry and Billy Smith, both of Oceanside, CA, and Michael Smith of Hawaii;
as well as a host of other relatives and many friends. He was born
near Norwood, MO, and then moved with his family to the Hartville area
for some time and then returned to Norwood where he graduated from the
Norwood High School in 1930. At the age of 18, he moved to California
where he worked on the oil rigs for the Shell Oil Company. Raymond
served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army Air Corp from Jan 20, 1942,
until Sep 21, 1945, and was a part of the 49th Fighter Group. During
his tour of duty in World War II, he was stationed in the Phillipines.
Following his military service, he returned to his job at Shell Oil Company
in California and soon met and married Ruth. For the next 4 years
they remained in California. In September of 1950, Raymond and his
family moved to their family farm east of Hartville where they made their
home for the next several years. In 1984, he and Ruth moved into
Hartville but continued to own and operate their farm. Throughout
the years the farm was a major part of Raymond's life. In 1958, he
was elected as the Wright County clerk and held that office for the next
12 years. For the next 4 years he was the director of the Wright
County License Bureau. In 1975, he was appointed as Presiding Commissioner
of the Wright County Court where he served for the next 5 years.
Raymond was a member of the Masonic Lodge # 622 of Norwood, the Elmer E.
Sellers American Legion Post # 45, and the Missouri Cattleman's Association.
He enjoyed having coffee and visiting with his many friends at the local
restaurant and the courthouse and liked watching sports on television.
Raymond was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother,
and uncle and took great interest in his family. He will be fondly
remembered as a devoted family man, and a concerned and patriotic citizen
and will be greatly missed by his family and many neighbors and friends.

Barron Von Wollweber, son of James William and Faye Clark Wollweber, was
born May 9, 1974, in Montgomery, AL. He departed this life Mar 25,
1989, in St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield, MO, at the age
of 14 years, 10 months and 16 days. Michael is survived by his parents;
4 brothers James, Springfield, MO, Erick, Marshfield, MO, and Adrian and
Anthony of the home; 1 sister Tina Young, Joplin, MO; also a host of other
relatives and friends. He lived most of his life in the Marshfield-Niangua
area. He had attended school in the Niangua school system until a
few months ago when he moved to Joplin, MO. Michael loved sports
very much, especially basketball and track. Michael will be dearly

Jun 16, 1945, in Salina, KS. She departed this life Saturday, Nov
25, 1995, in Hartville Care Center in Hartville, MO, at the age of 50 years,
10 months and 9 days. On May 22, 1964, she was united in marriage
to James Ivan Wynn, and to this union one daughter, Elizabeth Ann, was
born. She was preceded in death by her father. Amy is survived
by her husband James of the home; her daughter Beth Wynn of the home; her
mother Velna Smith of Springfield, MO; a brother Linus Smith of Springfield,
MO; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born
in Salina, KS, and was raised near Tunas, MO, where she graduated high
school. She later moved to Springfield, MO, where she met and married
James. They continued to make their home in Greene County until 1992,
when the family moved to Hartville. Amy had professed her faith in
Christ and was a member of the Brookline Baptist Church in Brookline, MO.
Throughout her life, she had worked as a legal secretary. Her work
was special to her and she enjoyed it very much. In her spare time,
she enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, and cake decorating. Amy
was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt, and was a caring
neighbor and friend. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed

years, 9 months and 10 days. On Jun 29, 1935, he was united in marriage
to Maxine Claxton and to this union 2 sons and 2 daughters were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant daughter.
Windy, as he was called by his friends, is survived by his wife Maxine
of the home; one daughter and son-in-law Kay and Wayne Holsinger, Chicago,
IL; 2 sons and daughters-in-law Kent and Leona Wynn, Nixa, MO, and Terry
and Teresa Wynn, Hartville, MO; 6 grandchildren Lanette and Marc Anzalone,
St. Louis, MO, Deborah Holsinger, Cleveland, OH, Russell and Chery Wynn,
Harrison, AR, Angela, Shawn, Tonia and Brent, Hartville, MO; one foster
grandchild Chris Curtis, Boliver, MO; one great-grandchild Derrick Wynn,
Harrison, AR; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He
was born in Hartville, MO, and had lived there all of his life except for
a short time that he and his family made their home in Idaho. For
most of his life he was involved in the beef cattle industry and enjoyed
his farm very much. Calvin had professed his faith in God and was
a member of the Shaddy Chapel Church of Christ. He was an avid Bible
scholar. He was active in the Hartville Senior Citizen Center and
was an avid fan of basketball. He also enjoyed playing checkers and
pool. Calvin will be fondly remembered as a loving husband, father,
