Other Denominations

The New Hope Lutheran Church was organized between 1840 and 1848. In 1860, there were three Lutheran churches in operation in the county.

The first Presbyterian church in Attala County was organized at Smyrna in 1840. The First Presbyterian Church of Kosciusko was organized in 1848. The Stonewall Presbyterian Church was organized in 1853 and in the 1870ís Presbyterian churches were operating in Sallis, West Union and Coahoma Mission. These latter churches are no longer functioning.
