Bernard Romans Chapter - Columbus, Mississippi

Organized: October 20, 1913

Welcome to our website! The DAR is a service organization made up of almost 170,000 members with 3,000 chapters located around the world. Any woman is eligible for membership who is at least eighteen years of age and lineally descended from a man or woman who aided in the causes of the American Revolution.

The Bernard Romans chapter gives members an opportunity for service in many areas (Scholarship, American History Contest, Outstanding American History Teacher, Good Citizen Awards, and Constitution Week Observances, etc). Our chapter meets seven to eight times per year to perpetuate the memory and spirit of the men and women who achieved American Independence; to promote an enlightened public opinion; and to foster true patriotism and love of country. We are located in Columbus, Mississippi, serving Lowndes and surrounding communities. It is our hope that you will enjoy learning more about our society, our chapter, and our community service programs.

If you share an interest in history, genealogy, community service, and fellowship, please contact our chapter for more information.
