Hello, I am looking for ancestors in Calhoun County that were found in the 1920 & 1930 Calhoun County Census.
My paternal grandmother's name was Willie Lavonia TURNER, daughter of Oliver N. & Gloria E. (listed as Bessie on the 1930 census form). Living at Derma & Bentley Road.

My paternal grandfather was a HAMILTON. My father told me his first name was Amer Lee HAMILTON, (not sure of spelling of first name).
I found several HAMILTON'S in the 1920 & 1930 census but, cannot find my paternal grandfather's name.
My grandparent's had several children including, James Dee, Billy Wayne,   Bobby Frank, John Ed, Kathryn, Peggy & Margie HAMILTON.
Apparently, all of my father's siblings have moved back to Calhoun County but, I cannot locate any of the HAMILTON'S or the cemetery where Lavonia & Amer HAMILTON are buried. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am looking for information on Mildred Word Gideon who was born in Sarepta on Feb. 21, 1874 to Word Gideon and Frances Wilson. Gideon was the son of James Gideon and Rebecca Montgomery. Frances was the daughter of Benjamin Wilson and ________(?).

We were told that Mildred attended the old Banner Girls School that was located on the site of the New Banner Cemetery which is behind the current Banner Crossing "Turner's" store. Does anyone have any photos or information on that school and the students. She attended probably in the mid-1890's before going on to teach school in Belen, Quitman Co., MS.

We found the graves of Word Gideon and infant son William F. in the Sarepta Cemetery. Mildred died on Jan. 12, 1967, and she is buried in Cleveland, Bolivar Co., MS with her family. If some of our later Mildred Webb data would be of help, please let me know. We have photos of her and her family from the late 1930's forward.

Thank you.
