I don't know who the people are. It was taken on the Saturday
afternoon just before the First Sunday in May Homecoming and Singing and
there were lots of people there cleaning up their family grave areas and
putting flowers on the graves or monuments.
One interesting thing happened to me. I got there early on the
next day and was walking around the cemetery and noticed that there were
some people still cleaning up family graves and putting out flowers.
I noticed a man who appeared to be several years younger than me with a
hoe who was sprucing up one particular grave that I knew. I went
over and said hello and then said "That's nice of you to take care of this
grave. That's my great-great-grandfather there." He turned
to me with a twinkle in his eye and said "Well, he's my great-great-grandfather,
too!" We had never met, but he was a cousin who lived in the Poplar
Springs area.
