SIMPSON FAMILY CEMETERY & Family Notes
CALHOUN COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI

This cemetery is
located in present day Calhoun County that was at one time Yalobusha County, at
the site of the old Simpson family home place.
The cemetery is located off Highway 32 between Pine Valley and
Bruce. Take County Road 260 to County
Road 247, then first right on 247 about a half mile to the top of the
hill. On your right is a gnarled cedar
tree. Turn onto a log road around cedar
tree and cemetery will be about 100 feet on left side of log road.

b. 9-6-1805, d. 2-18-1890.
Nancy [Gober] Simpson, b. 11-4-1807, d. 8-9-1878.

Nancy [Gober] Simpson were the parents of Pinkney Elsberry Simpson, and the grandparents of Louis Gober Simpson who is buried at Oak Hill Cemetery, Water
Valley, Yalobusha Co., Miss.}
Pinkney
Elsberry Simpson, b.

Sarah Jennie [Spradling] Simpson, b. 5-7-1859, d. 11-19-1925.

Simpson were the parents of Louis Gober Simpson and
William L. (Little Willie) Simpson.
William L.
(Little Willie) Simpson, b.
9-8-1886, d. 6-20-1891.
{NOTE: Little
Willie was killed when his father, Pinkney Elsberry
Simpson, told him to jump from a runaway wagon.
He fell under the wheels and was instantly killed.}
Ellen Simpson, b. 10-25-1837, d. 6-3-1907.
{NOTE: Ellen was
the sister of Pinkney Elsberry Simpson,
and the daughter of John L. And Nancy [Gober]
Simpson}.
John T. Simpson, b. 6-23-1844, d. 11-10-1897.
{NOTE: John was the
brother of Pinkney Elsberry Simpson,
and the husband of Mattie P. [Williamson] Simpson}.
Mattie P.
[Williamson] Simpson, b.
3-17-1854, d. 10-24-1938.
Luna Simpson, b.7-2-1883, d. 9-2-1883.

daughter of John T. and Mattie P. [Williamson] Simpson. On the grave stone, “A Bud on Earth

Thomas Freeman
Simpson, b. 11-20-1889, d.
9-25-1898.
{NOTE: Thomas
Freeman was the son of John T. and Mattie P. [Williamson] Simpson.
