Re: Members of the James family being in Choctaw County leading into Civil War times and the decade beyond it ..Trying to find more clues to my great grandfather Monroe James' parentage possibly ... He age 9, his older brother Andrew b. 1849 and little 3 yr old sister Elizabeth C. James were on 1860 Census in Lexington, Miss., the h of h recorded as a B. A. James, 36, female.  3 little Brown boys tacked onto the end of the enumeration. About $10 claimed to B A's credit ... indicated some kind of transitory situation possibly? I have read of a WILLIAM JAMES who was in Choctaw County and having died of wounds inflicted by KKK at some point? Wonder if there is a connection to my gr grandfather. SUSIE JAMES

JENNINGS, CROWLEY, GABLE, DELANEY, COOPER, THOMPSON, MOORE
John Powell Fri,  Nov 7, 1997
Hulda JENNINGS, 8th child of Boswell Smith JENNINGS and Nancy CROWLEY was born July 9, 1837 in SC. She married about 1853 W. R. COOPER, b. 1830 SC and they had one son, Thomas Jefferson COOPER b. Nov 1853 or Oct 1854. I am searching for the birth record of T. J. COOPER and whether he married Louis GABLE or Frances DELANEY JENNINGS. Hulda JENNINGS died in June 1854 and is buried at Double Springs, Webster Co., MS. W. R. COOPER is living with the T. B. THOMPSON family in Greensboro, Choctaw Co., MS did he marry a Thompson? It has been reported that Thomas J. COOPER was a half brother of Penn MOORE, Monroe MOORE, and Mollie MOORE. Did the widow of W. R. Coopers second marriage marry a Mr. MOORE?
