Looking for info on my
greatgrandparents,
particularly my greatgrandmother.
Her name was Frances (aka
Fannie)
Victoria PARTRIDGE/PATDRIDGESMITH, b. June 30, 1883 in
or
around Eupora, MS; d. Jul 20 (19), 1961; m. John A. SMITH,
b. Feb 10, 1885 in Holcomb, MS, d. Sept 15, 1963. Both are buried in
Friendship
Church of God Cemetery in Charleston/Enid, Tallahatchie Co, MS. I
believe
they were m. in 1904/1905 in Choctaw Co.. Does anyone have info on the
date they were married? Seeking info on Franklin's father James (?) PARTRIDGE,
b. ca 1835/36 in GA, d. in the Civil War in Shelby Co, TN, date unknown
and exact burial site unknown. Was told he was an Indian Scout for the
Confederacy and joined the war in MS. It is believed James m. Maria,
maiden
name unknown in SC. Do not know when they came to MS or where they
lived
before James was killed. Maria remarried ca 1864 to J. Richard USSERY
and lived in Choctaw Co at the time of the 1880 census. Anyone with
info,
your help would be greatly appreciated. Also looking for info on
Fannie's parents Franlkin and Mollie NORMAND PARTRIDGE.
I
understand Mollie died in the winter months of 1900 and Franklin died
3-4
mo. later in 1901. They lived in Chester, MS at the time of the 1900
census.
Mollie died from the beating her husband gave her in the winter months
of 1900. Do not believe her husband Franklin was prosecuted for her
death,
but because he knew the sheriff (name unknown) was placed on a work
detail
far from civilization to clear new land. It is believed that he was
probably
killed by his fellow work mates because they felt it was wrong for him
to get away with murder and they felled a large tree top on him
sometime
in Jan or Feb, 1901. What happened to the children, the oldest being
Frances
(Fannie) 17 and the youngest Alma 3 mos? Thank you.

Researching my PATTERSON
ancestors. My ggrandmother was Lydia Ellen PATTERSON,
b. in Limestone Co, AL, 1850. Her parents were m. in Limestone Co, AL
in
1847. Rosa Gabrilla Ballard BECKHAM PATTERSON, b. May
10,
1825; d. Feb 3, 1883; bur. in Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Choctaw Co; the
daughter
of Wyatt David BECKHAM and Lydia MORGAN.
Looking
for info on her and her family. She was m. to William Alexander PATTERSON
and according to the family, he d. coming home in 1864, while crossing
Red Bay, Battle of Vincent Springs, AL. In reality there is a
William
A. PATTERSON who served in the First AL US and he was
captured
in the Battle of Red Bay and d. in 1864. If this is the same guy,
his being a Yankee is a deep dark secret. Could you put me in
contact
with a library or someone who might be able to help me with info on
this
family. Thanks for any assistance.
