I am vitally interested in Winston/Choctaw because my ancestors were there early. My gggrandfather, William H. RAY, was there by 1840. He was married to Mary A.M. MILLER in Winston Co. 1842. His descendants and relatives are buried at Salem Methodist Church Cemetery in Chester. That cemetery is "full" of RAYs. The CHANNELL side of my family also in Choctaw very early.

Patte Evans, Mon Apr 5, 2004
Looking for any information on RAY, MCKNIGHT, and MCINTYRE.  My mother was Gladys Nora (McINTYRE) WARD, born May 1, 1919 and died April 2, 1995.  My Grandfather and Grandmother were Joseph Hiram McINTYRE and Ettie Melinda (RAY) McINTYRE.  They are buried in the Salem Methodist Church Cemetery in Chester (Ackerman), MS.  Anyone researching these names, please email me. Our Great-Grandfather James Joseph McINTYRE, born April 4, 1803, came over around 1810 from County Cork, Ireland with his brother, John Jerry McINTYRE.  James Joseph McIntyre married Sarah Jane HIGGINS, settled in Chester and is buried in the woods somewhere near the above cemetery.  Ettie Melinda (RAY) McINTYRE's Grandfather was John "Jack" married to Nancy Elizabeth RAYMcKNIGHT.  I believe they are buried in the above cemetery also.  Any info would be greatly appreciated.
