Shaffer Family Cemetery Siloam, Clay Co., MS

The Shaffer Family Cemetery is located about three miles north of highway 50 and Ivy Village in Clay County, Mississippi.
Adam Shaffer, June 13, 1807 - May 16, 1855
Louisa Colensworth Russell Shaffer, Nov 8, 1813 - Mar 3, 1900
Adam Shaffer was the son of John Federick and Magdalina "Eichelberger" Shaffer, who came from Newberry District, Dutch Fork, South Carolina. His mother died before 1812, probably in South Carolina and his father died at Brush Creek, Perry County, Alabama. John Frederick was born August 18, 1774 in South Carolina, and died October 24, 1858. John was buried at Mt. Herman United Methodist Church Cemetery in Hale County, Alabama.
Adam Shaffer had many siblings; their names were John Frederick, Jr., William, John M., Christiana, Suannah, Elizabeth, Mary Polly Smith. Adam, along with his brothers and sisters; John Frederick, John M., William , Susannah Shaffer Greene and Mary Shaffer Smith, all came to Oktibbeha County, Mississippi, between 1840 and 1860. William Shaffer didn't stay long in Mississippi, moving on west to Madisonville, Texas. John M. Shaffer moved over in the next county, Choctaw County and died there on August 10, 1855. John M. was married to Mary D. "Dolly" Smith on February 16, 1823 in Perry County, Alabama. They had nine children.

Minnie Lee was the daughter of Andrew Jackson and Nancy Exine "Melton" Shaffer and the granddaughter of Adam and Louisa Shaffer.
