DAR members have always considered education an important aspect of the Society’s mission. Chapter members work with our local youth through various educational programs, including the American History Essay Contest and DAR Good Citizen Awards. Historic Preservation  

Since the DAR was founded, members have been involved in their communities with a wide variety of historic preservation projects. The members of Chief Tishomingo Chapter believe in protecting our local heritage for future generations. Click on the Preservation link above to see some of the ways we are preserving our heritage.



Promoting the ideals of patriotism and love of country is as relevant today as it was in the year 1776. Our members believe in trying to make America a better place in which to live. Click on the Patriotism link above to see some of the ways we support the ideals of freedom.



Any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution, is eligible for membership.
