As a result of the work of
DAR members, the DAR Library has assembled a tremendous amount
of material not available anywhere else in the world.
Members of our chapter
contribute family record pages to be placed in the DAR Library
Genealogical Records Collection in Washington and the
Mississippi State Genealogy Records Library in Jackson.
Additionally, members transcribe local history and genealogy
records for our local Tishomingo County Archives & History
Museum. |

Historic
Preservation
Chief Tishomingo Chapter's
involvement in preserving things of historical significance has
encompassed a wide variety of projects. Our chapter supports the
renovation work of three local landmarks: The
Tishomingo County Archives & History Museum, the
Burnsville One-Room Colored School, and the
Midway School.

Lineage
Research
In 1961, the National Society realized
it was important to assist potential members with free
genealogical services when they needed help completing their
application papers.
Chief Tishomingo chapter members
assist individuals in preparing DAR applications through an
annual lineage workshop and one-one-one contacts. Educational
seminars are planned periodically to assist the public in
cemetery surveying and other genealogy techniques. |
