Longstreet was located between Lambert and Vance. It was primarily a cotton loading station on the railroad and was named for James Carter Longstreet, a prominent attorney from Grenada who also worked with the railroad in a legal capacity. The town is shown on old maps as late as the 1940's but became obliterated in the march of progress. The area is now owned by a land company headquarterd in Clarksdale.
