Cecile Cowart Brown, 93, of Leaf, Miss., died Jan. 1, 2008.
Robert Carl Lamb, 61, of Lucedale, died Jan. 1, 2008. is preceded in death by his father and mother, Ogreta and Milton Lamb Sr., and one brother, Dan Lamb. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Oscar B. "Blackie" Rouse, 88, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, in Pascagoula. He was born Dec. 5, 1919, in George County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Webb and Ola Rouse; a daughter, Karla Gordon; mother of his children, Betty Rouse Newbill; and his second wife, Jenny Rouse. Burial will follow at Jackson County Memorial Park, Pascagoula, Miss.
Mrs. Johnnie Lee Martin, 58, of Lucedale, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2008. Mrs. Martin was born Nov. 11, 1949, in Milay, Ala. Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her parents, Siglas Daniel and Carrie Estelle Jones; and one brother, Donald Lee Martin Jr. Burial will follow at Serene Memorial Gardens in Escatawpa.
Miss Doris Eloise Thompson, 83, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008.
Domonique M. Johnson, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008, at his home in the Barton Community. Burial in Davis Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Shelia Joyce Gilmore, 49, of Richton, died Jan. 13, 2008. Visit: Bo Bradley residence until graveside service, in Bradley Cemetery.
Mr. Homer "Bo" Leslie Howell, 61, of Lucedale died Jan. 15, 2008. Burial: Crossroads Methodist Cemetery.
Franklin D. Turner, of Lucedale. died Jan. 15, 2008.
Ms. Melfleah Eden Griffin, 18, of Lucedale.
Mrs. Elsie Louise Goff, 83, of Lucedale, died Jan. 17, 2008.
Harold L. "Yogi" Jones, 63, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008. He was the son of the late Leeroy and the late Lessie (Tate) Jones; his brother, Floyd Jones, also preceded him in death. Yogi was also a member of the Agricola Baptist Church and a resident of Agricola, Miss. Interment will follow in the Agricola Cemetery.
Mrs. Jessie Lee Ely Sossaman, 65, of Lucedale, died Jan. 19, 2008.
Pervie Ray Ishee Sr. , 81, of McLain, Miss., died Jan. 26, 2008.
Bessie M. Lawrence (Talbert), 86, of Lucedale, died Jan. 31.Internment will be at Mount Olive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Febuary

Harvey Henry Purvis, 87, of Lucedale, died Feb. 4, 2008 He was born on Aug. 14, 1920, in Coffeeville, Ala. He was preceded in death by two sons, Robert W. Purvis and Michael O. Purvis; parents, Wesley and Hattie Purvis; two grandsons, Tony Purvis and Dewayne Purvis. Interment will be at Shady Grove Cemetery.
Willie Mae Perine Wess, 61, of Lucedale, passed away Feb. 5, 2008. She was born Dec. 25, 1946, to the late Willie Hill Sr. and Mae Ruth Hill. She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, James Hill. Burial will follow at Lily Grove Baptist Cemetery in Lucedale.
Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Howard, 76, of Lucedale, died Feb. 6, 2008. Interment: Holmes Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
Frances Ramsay Shoemaker, 89, of the Ramsay Community, died Saturday, February 9, 2008. Mrs. Shoemaker was born in Lucedale. Mrs. Shoemaker was preceded in death by her husband, A. P. Shoemaker, Jr., and sister, Clio Ramsay Bains. Interment will follow in the Ramsay Family Cemetery in Jackson County.
Sonya Renee Strahan, 41, of Lucedale, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2008.
Raymond Lee Overby, 82, of Lucedale, died Feb. 16, 2008, in Mobile, Ala. Mr. Overby was born March 1, 1925, in Morton, Miss. He was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Ray Overby; his father and mother, Early F. and Hattie Bell Overby; and brothers, Ross, Jimmy, and Jessie Overby. Interment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
Jimmy Donald, 61, of Lucedale, died Feb. 18, 2008.
Mr. Jimmy Raymond Donald Sr., 61, of Lucedale, passed away, Feb. 18, 2008, in Mobile, Ala. Mr. Donald was born Dec. 21, 1946, in Matchie. Mr. Donald is reunited with his sons, Shane Donald, Michael Donald and Jody Donald; daughter, Nikki Gardner; his parents, Vera and Oswalt Donald; and his brother, Frank Donald. Burial will follow at Jackson County Memorial Park, Pascagoula.
Mrs Bobby Jean Green, 76, of Lucedale, died Feb. 19, 2008.
James Curtis Pipkins, 73, of Lucedale, died Feb. 21.
Russell Dwight Guin, 64, of Lucedale, died Feb. 22, 2008.
Remicka Taite Patton, 30, of Moss Point, died Feb. 23, 2008. She was born Aug. 9, 1977, in Pascagoula. She was a 1995 Graduate of Moss Point High School and a member of The Church of God Pentecostal in Lucedale, Miss. She was preceded in death by a brother, Corbin Cornealious McMillian; grandparents, Johnny "Goodlow" (Ruby) Taite; great-grandparents, Howard (Narie) Broughton Stevens, Albert McMillian and Sennie McMillian-Nelson. Interment will be in Scranton Cemetery, Pascagoula.

Mrs. Mary Alice Mae Erkhart Bates, 72, of Lucedale, died Feb. 29, 2008.
Sylvester B. Robinson of Lucedale, died Feb. 29, 2008. Born March 16, 1951. Interment: Sweetwater Church Cemetery, Benndale, MS.

J. T. Smith, 75, of Jackson County and George County, died March 1, 2008. J. T. was a former resident of Moss Point. He was born on Oct. 28, 1932, in Neshoba County. He coached baseball in Moss Point for 25 years, he was also a 32nd Degree Mason and a deacon at Heritage Baptist Church in George County. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Smith; a son, Bobby Wayne Smith; parents, Jay and Grace Smith, of Beatline, Miss.; a sister, Lorene Smith; and one great-granddaughter, Hayleigh Harrell-Suthoff. Mr. Smith will be taken to Funeral Home in Philadelphia, Miss., with a grave-side service following at Beatline Baptist Church Cemetery in Neshoba County.
Mrs. Mary Dickinson, 52, of Richton, Miss., died March 2, 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Dexter Thompkins

Eva Dee Rogers Jodoin, a resident of Glen Oaks in Lucedale, formerly of Moss Point, died March 12, 2008. Mrs. Jodoin was born on Feb. 18, 1922, in Smith County, Miss. Mrs. Jodoin was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Jodoin; father, James C. Rogers; her mother, Emma Lee (Sartor) Rogers; sisters, Ernestine Shepperson, Hattie Ruth Johnson; nephew, Lester Shepperson; niece, Myrna Butler. Burial: Rosedale United Methodist Church Cemetery, Harleston, Miss.
Jessie Bouchee, 76, of Lucedale, died March 12, 2008. Interment will be held at Sandy Branch Cemetery, Lucedale.
