Services Held At Durant For Light, Water Works Head
DURANT, Miss. Feb. 15. - Funeral services for
J. D. Alsbury. twice superintendent of the Durant Light & Power Works, were
held at 4 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Presbyterian Church with the Dr. G. T.
Gillespie, president of Belhaven College and the Rev. Henry S. Roberton
officiating.
Mr. Alsbury, who was 57, died in a New Orleans hospital
early Sunday after a short illness. He was a native of Parsons, Kansas and had
lived in Durant 25 years.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Norma Angle
Alsbury: a daughter Mrs. L. L. Ferguson, Vicksburg, Miss,: a son, Alva Dayle
Alsbury, New Orleans: four brothers, Harry, Joe, Ed and Charles Alsbury, all of
Durant.
