ROBERT ANDERSON Family

Query Posted - February 19th, 2007

Robert A. Anderson, Lexington-Durant, Mississippi, lawyer born in Middle Tennessee to parents Thomas Anderson & wife Elizabeth McCorkle (Anderson).  Robert appears in the 1850 Mississippi census as aged 31, with wife Susan C. Anderson, aged 23; their children in 1850 are listed as Thomas Anderson (named after his Tennessee grandfather), aged 4 months; and Robert Y. Anderson.  Robert Y. Anderson was living in 1880 in Durant, Holmes County, Mississippi. Other children’s names (of Robert A. & Susan C. Anderson) listed in the census records are:

Mary L. Anderson; Emily T. Anderson; Alfred M. Anderson; and Ruby Anderson (Ruby born about 1871).

Please, do you know anything about this family?  Robert A. Anderson’s mother’s parents were:  Robert McCorkle of Rowan Co., N.C., and Elizabeth Blythe, a daughter of Presbyterian minister James Blythe & Elizabeth King Blythe.

I would be very grateful for help.

Yours,

Marsha Huie
