Colonel John Heath I
John Heath I was born 27 November 1822 in Rodney, Jefferson County, Miss., and was the son of James Adolphus (born 27 March 1771 in Stone Arabia, New York) and Julia Ann (Roberts) Meyer Heath (born 15 October 1779 in Pennsylvania). During 1859 he came to Issaquena County and was the manager of Henry.P. Duncanís plantation (son of Dr. Stephen Duncan of Natchez) until 1864. Heath later became a planter himself in Issaquena County. He married first on 27 November 1851 to Miss Mary M. Stewart, of Copiah county, Miss. She died during 1864 and he later was married during 1868  to Miss Louisa Taylor, of Washington county. Col. John W. Heath died 2 October 1900 in Issaquena County and was buried in Veterans Cemetery in Vicksburg.
