Washington County 1840 Federal Census

Washington County is a parent county of Issaquena County. Prior to the formation of Issaquena County in 1844, a large portion of the southern part of Washington County territory included the fertile plantation lands that later became Issaquena County. Below is the 1840 US Federal Census representing Washington County. Many of those enumerated in this census are enumerated on the 1850 Issaquena County census.
