My mother, Carrie Eulane Beene, went to school in Mantachie and married David Bryant Griggs in Itawamba County in 1927. He was

My older sister, Betty Joe Griggs Snell, was born in Itawamba Co. in 1928 and the rest of us were born in St. Francis Co, AR, near Hughes. All of the Bean (Beene) daughters, except Effie Lou, married and raised their families in Itawamba County. Many of their offspring still live in the area.
